It’s my current streaming service, so I didn’t want to change. Very happy.

My dad gets Comcast included in his monthly rent, and cannot operate a streaming device to save his life. So it's either Comcast or bust.

So my Hulu bill (which is much cheaper than my old cable bill) has still snuck up about $12 a month over the last year or so. Does anyone know if Marquee will be a premium add-on or is it built into the monthly service?

No clue. Mine crept up too. But I will pay whatever for my Cubbies.

You have to have Hulu+Live Tv. That is about 55 bucks a month.

Been a Cubs fan my whole life. I'm not going to bend over backwards to pay them to watch a season where I expect 84 wins or so.

I already have Hulu live. I wonder how far into WI you can be and still get the games.

Same here, they really dropped the ball and should have rolled this out last year. Ricketts is a fool, they could have saved a hundred million too if they bought up real estate a few years before they did. He's not a bright dude.

They couldn't get out of their WGN/WLS/NBC contracts until now. And now look, imagine that, NBC's parent company, the predominant cable provider in the market, is not going to let them compete with their own RSN.

This is a repeat of when the Yankees left Cablevision-owned MSG and couldn't get YES on Cablevision systems for a year. I'm resigned to the Cubs being unreachable to most of the market. The ghost of Bill Wirtz is truly smiling upon the Cubs today.

Bruce Levine will add Marquee Sports Network role to his duties
PHIL ROSENTHAL FEBRUARY 18, 2020
A reporter and host for WSCR-AM 670, Levine is expected to contribute features for Marquee’s website, be involved with a roundtable program with other reporters and fill other roles.

Levine will continue to report on and write about the Cubs and White Sox for The Score and its website. He has been covering baseball in Chicago for more than 30 years.

Among Levine’s WSCR scoops was the news in August 2018 that the Cubs had hired Mike McCarthy, former president of the MSG Network and the onetime chief executive of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, to pursue their exclusive television deal. McCarthy now is Marquee’s general manager.

The new channel has secured cable, satellite and streaming deals with several companies but has yet to strike a carriage deal with Comcast’s Xfinity service, which serves roughly half the team’s designated market.

hopefully Phil Rosenthal correctly identified Bruce's title/role at both positions or else Bruce will leave a scathing tweet on the twitters.

The first game they are ever scheduled to televise is likely going to be rained out tomorrow. So very fitting

Quote:
* Widespread rain is expected across much of south central Arizona
Saturday into Saturday evening, with desert rain totals
approaching 1 inch, and rain over 1.5 inches possible across
high terrain areas north and east of Phoenix. Rain may be heavy
at times and could lead to flash flooding of washes, creeks and
other low elevation locations.

Jesse said that they will delay it 2 hours if need be, they don't want the first Marquee game cancelled.

Comcast still has Marquee by the balls. Marquee sells advertising rates based on the amount of homes carried. Comcast represents over half of those advertising dollars and those contracts need to be signed soon.

Interesting how so many ripped on Hawks for being a homer, but do not question the reporting guys like Levine and Smith, who are the ultimate homers because they only report stories given to them by the team and then appear as "experts" on talk shows where they quickly shoot down anyone that questions the team line. Hub created the template for this and he still will defend Bears ownership with his dying breath because he needs access to the team.

Moving an opening spring train game from day to night after heavy desert flash rains. The rest of the cactus league is cancelled. All for Marquee Network's premier? Seems silly.
