Blago returns to the city and shakes promptly lists his condo. What exactly is he afraid of?

it is a little sad that we don't get to grow old together as neighbors, but that's just one of the many things I'm gonna miss about living on the north side.

I just gotta keep telling myself how much I'm going to like being close to my office and also not having to drive 45 minutes to find a golf course.

I used to work with a Serbian chick. She hated Blago...but she said that the Serbs weren't big fans of Shakes' people, either.

think that's just cosmetic to give it a rustic loft feel. Place is called Elston Lofts. I like it, ceiling definitely stands out when you see it in person.

already have 3 showings scheduled for the next couple days. I imagine that is pretty typical for anything new on the market. Hoping things get interesting and we get a couple offers bidding against each other.

it will sell quick, the very large stripper pole supports fat girls so it was smart to go with the big stripper pole so as to not eliminate those buyers

It was a tough choice when we bought the place as it was still being built. Extra wide stripper pole or heated floors in the bathroom. I think we chose wisely.

4 showings of my condo set for today including a repeat showing for the guy who already took a tour a couple days ago...pretty sure he's bringing his wife this time. I'm assuming that's a really good sign. That guy also had some follow up questions for me about who owned the fence surrounding my yard. I assume if they are asking detailed questions like that they are really interested.

On my end me and the wife are going out and looking at 4-5 houses this afternoon.

I guess the extra large stripper pole is a bigger draw than expected. The people who came back for a second look today made us an offer tonight. Full asking price. And my realtor told me i was being unrealistic wanting to list it at 340. He wanted us to list it at 310. He should offer to only take a commission on the first 310 and nothing above that.

Still several showings set for tomorrow and had a few others today. Who knows, might get lucky and get ourselves a good old fashioned bidding war before the end of the weekend.

ON the other end looked at 5 houses today, a couple were nice, but nothing really wowed us. Hitting up 6 open houses tomorrow.

Congrats on offer. Open houses are for homes that have issues or are priced too high

no bidding war, although I have doubts my broker even notified the other prospective buyers.

Ended up accepting today. Closing is set for 3/30 which gives me a month buy a house. Not gonna be easy, I'm very picky and so far haven't found anything we really like. Looked at 11 houses over the weekend. Gonna raise our budget a bit and see what happens.

These days, a lot of open houses are due to the market being hot, and realtors are doing this very early in the process because demand is so high. More often than you would think, these open houses incite a bidding war. At least that’s the case here in the C-bus area. My daughter works in real estate back in Chicago though, and says it’s the same there.

How far north is your cutoff as far as towns you’d consider?

Lincolnshire and Lake Forest. Sucks because there's a big drop off in price and increase in value when you get to Vernon Hills. But, its just too far from my office. I don't want to be more than 15 minutes max.

We'd go as far west as Wheeling, but there isn't really anything nice there. At least nothing on the market. As far south as Glenview, but we prefer to be north so we can get a little land and a big yard.

Lincolnshire and Vernon Hills are only 5 minutes from each other. As long as you are close to 60 you should be fine.

When we sold the townhouse we had an open house on a Saturday and had 3 offers Saturday night. We were under contract the next Thursday.

Thinking that open houses are problem homes is an old thought.

Realtors just tell you it's happening now. It's not a question anymore, because it works.
