I'm 2 days late on this, the movie was released 7/6/88, but I totally forgot...

Anyway, a happy belated 20th birthday to the Two Coreys' Classic "License to Drive"...I remember when the movie came out, and my sister snuck into it while I was enduring "Mac and Me" with my mom and younger sister. Got to see it on good old VHS probably a few months later, thanks to my friend/next door neighbor.

I recently watched the movie again, and it is not only a great nostalgic movie for the 80's, it's still a pretty enjoyable romp. Very derivative and simple, but some legitimately funny scenes as well. I'm a big fan of Richard Masur and Carol Kane anyway...still gets a thumbs up from me.

Watch it now!

I was a big fan of the Coreys back in the day. The Lost Boys was my favorite though.

"DEATH BY STEREO!"

"Death by Stereo!" is a great line. I know i've said it a few times in my life.

What's fun too is going back and nitpicking all the 80's and weird stuff. Like, for instance...ever notice that Sam has a poster of a t0pless dude in his room? Or...that he's wearing a shirt that says "Born to Shop"?

And 80's stuff...like the hair...my God the HAIR!!

Yeah, I miss the 80s. I was watching Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo last weekend. Such a corny time in pop culture.

Didn't Dazed and Confused come out in the 90s?

I was a Back to the Future guy myself (probably cause I was 8 when the 80s ended). I have show that movie to my students (6th graders) the last three years and most of them liked it considering only about 20% of the class had seen it before.

Teen Wolf. Anybody love that one as much as I did? Especially the final basketball game when MJ Fox decided not to become the wolf, as they played that song "Win In The End." That was some emotional shit.

That scene has been on my myspace profile page for quite some time now, and it will remain there as it is truly a gem.

the beavers mounted quite a comeback...next time you watch it, keep your eye on the scoreboard!
