They need an instant impact and it generally takes TEs a couple of years to adjust. Hooper has to be the guy. Listening to the press conference of Nagy and Pace, I anticipate a splash at TE and WR. They'll target Hooper in free agency and then draft a WR with their first pick in this LOADED draft for WRs.

No Nas.

WR has to be 2nd pick in round 2.

OT first.

How much do you want to pay a top 6 or 7 RT? How do you hide Massie for a year?

The Bears need two new tackles. Leno or Massie have to get cut. The other, you make your backup swing tackle. If that means a rookie is starting at L/R Tackle for the Bears on day 1, then so be it.

Leno and Massie were so awful last year that the Bears simply cannot have them both starting again. If they are, its another 8-8 at best season coming up.

I don't disagree about either. Cutting them is the problem.

They have to. One has to be cut and you deal with eating the money and the cap hit. Ideally you cut both, but that option isn't real feasible.

maybe the best but its a down year for TE

He hasn't been overly durable at a position that demands durability. He really only had one year of performance at ND. He needs to learn to block better. Still, I have liked him a lot. I wouldn't be against it.

All these big name FA are pipe dreams. I imagine we quickly get priced out of the Hooper bidding. There was word about a trade for guys like Andrews or Brate. That is the way I would go if the trade is for a 5th for Andrews or a 7th for Brate.

I bet he will be even more expensive than Hooper.

The "cut both tackles" group is going to be sorely disappointed this year. Both of those guys will be on the team. The best I can hope for is an OT in the second who shows enough to start and shift one of the guys to swing tackle.

Please tell me you aren't referring to Mark Andrews. Maybe you're confusing him with Hayden Hurst

He will be there for the Bears if that's what they want. I was choosing between him and Denzel Mims. I think Mims has better hands.

I think I am. Ravens have used a lot of high picks on a lot of TE recently

Hurst you can probably get for something like a 5th. Gotta think Mark Andrews is unavailable for all intents and purposes.

Agree with Dolphin. Hooper is going to be priced quickly out of the Bears range.

so is Conklin. spotrac has him estimated at $15 mil per season

I think the better way to go is to get a guard. Maybe target Andrus Peat hoping you are getting a young guy on the upswing.

I think a lot depends on what they think of Barrs. Is he a G or T? If so, is he good enough to start? What about Coward?

I think as a fan base we should be past holding out hope for practice squad players to make the leap.

I believe that a $50-60M for 4 years dead for Hooper will seem like a bargain in a year or 2. When you have the resources and there is a guy available to fill that need, you don't go to the bargain aisle.

They didn't seem to like what they saw from Coward last year, wonder if they give Bars a long look at G or RT, he will be over a year removed from injury and should be at full strength. LT is problematic due to Leno's cap number and the fact that there are very few guys that can play that position at a high level.
