Valid points, but I'm still delighted that one of cable TV's greatest vessels for an odiously dogmatic centrism has been expelled from the public airwaves. An injury to one is not an injury to all if that one is a major asshole.

You're right, Reid is probably worse than Matthews, if only because she's largely coherent.

I had assumed Kornacki would get the 7:00 PM slot, but MSNBC needs to add a woman and/or minority to their evening lineup.

I read somewhere that Matthew's wife as tried to get him to retire a while ago as she felt he was slipping and would end up ruining his legacy.

She is a likely choice although I have read that MSNBC is reluctant because of her popularity on weekends. I like Nicole Wallace but as someone mentioned she has expressed family concerns with that time slot. Kornacki won't get it because it's too high profile, although he could be given a slot that opens up if either of the above happens. The wild card is Shep Smith - but $$$ is the issue there.
