Somehow someway you'd think context would matter. Guess not.

NBA Finals garners higher ratings than the NFL draft. Is that a "normal" circumstance?

Do the Words NBA FINALS (obviously not) mean anything to you?

NBA finals ratings were much higher than THE FIRST DAY OF THE DRAFT.

You’re cherry picking your option. .
.

Sort of like how you and others here routinely "cherry pick" the first day of the NFL draft and extrapolate as if it's not an outlier?

Reruns of roller derby would out draw the 3rd day of the draft.

"Actually, on average, the NBA finals do get more viewers than the NFL draft" is one of the biggest examples of winning a battle that loses the war I've ever seen on here.

Nah NFL Draft rating avg comp is actually 2nd Round of the NBA,playoffs.

NBA Finals ratings are in another stratosphere from that

It's not that you're too stupid to realize I'm actually comparing things head to head, like logical, reasonable people do. It's that you realized you lost that battle and want to whine like a petulant little bitch.

Kindly go fuck yourself, you miserable prick.

Why do you give a shit? The NBA is healthy and it's popular with you. I don't pay much attention to the NFL for my own reasons but I don't let my bias cloud my judgement on what's the most popular. Mostly because I couldn't care less.

I actually wonder why the "No One Cares About The NBA" crowd gives a shit?

Have you really cased the joint all that much? They spent the better part of 2-3 years bashing the hell out of the Score for daring to talk basketball.

You know what the common retort happened to be invariably? "No One (ostensibly the small subset of people on here) Gives a Shit about the NBA so why are they discussing it all the time.

It was simply time to counter and debunk that rather dumbass argument once and for all.

Your comparison is only related to one night dumbass.

You cherry pick one night of the draft and use it to further a dumbass argument promoted by other dopes like you.

I actually am a White Sox fan and have heard that for the past 3 decades at least. Even called Les's show about it once back in the day.

However the guys usually making that argument are baseball fans that happen to be Cubs fans. Whole Cubs/Sox bullshit argument.

Somehow and Someway "No one giving a shit about baseball" is ever uttered even though it's clearly the 3rd most popular sport in this country currently.

Game 7 Spurs Nuggets series. Murders NFL draft day 3 coverage. Nearly triples its audience. Let the record show that it was a "meaningless" first round series also.

The NBA playoffs continued to dominate the Saturday cable ratings this week.

TNT’s broadcast of the Spurs vs. Nuggets game took the night’s top spot with a 1.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demo and 3.49 million viewers, beating ESPN’s Houston vs. Utah broadcast (1.2, 3.19 million) that had won the previous Saturday. The 76ers vs. Raptors (1.1, 3.08 million) game and the late-night “Inside the NBA Playoffs” special (0.8) secured TNT the the night’s no. 2 and no. 3 spots as well.

Elsewhere, ESPN’s coverage of rounds 4-7 of this year’s NFL Draft grabbed a 0.5 average rating with 1.25 million viewers, and A&E’s “Live PD” ticked back down from its previous 0.7 to a 0.6.

i just spent a few minutes reading rereading the argument. surely i had missed something. i even drew it up on the whiteboard in my office.

league 1 championship to determine best team of the year viewers > league 2 picking college players they think are good to hopefully make them good team viewers

therefore

league 1 > league 2

SportsCenter has been on for 30 minutes. It has been 28 minutes of Tom Brady talk, at about 2 minutes of the Yankees minor Leaguer who tested positive for the virus. Not one second dedicated to the NBA.

Notice how quickly the NFL draft talk subsided once actual numbers were provided? I know I do.

Oh yeah and reading is a skill

long time guy wrote:
None of those stories are as big as the NBA's decision to suspend its season.

There isn't anything to report currently. How many "NBA suspends it season" stories do you think they can run? There is a saturation point.

If the NBA resumes play tomorrow NFL free agency goes on the back burner again.

As far as Social media goes there is no contest. Don't want to compare those figures now do you?

It is noteworthy that it took 5 days before people here even felt comfortable holding this discussion.

Good timing, SC just announced Woj will be on after the commercials to talk about Durant's C19 diagnosis.

Funny I just turned on SportsCenter and they immediately broke away from NFL coverage to discuss the 4 Nets players that tested positive for the coronavirus.

Woj coming on now.

Woj also called it that Brady wasn't returning to the Patriots on his most recent podcast, on yesterday's Woj pod. He was taking listener questions, from social media, I think. Someone asked where he thought Brady would land. Woj said he didn't know where Brady'd end up but he wouldn't be back with the Patriots. http://www.espn.com/espnradio/podcast/a ... d/26974840

See what happens when you depend on Fraternization Frank for your information?

Lead story on the 5:00 Sportscenter is Kevin Durant contracting CoronaVirus
