That's the only way to view it. Bridgewater has done NOTHING in his career and the Bears were willing to give him $60M but he needed to compete with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky for the job. He didn't want to.

They knew the Bears would not actually hold a fair camp and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky would get the nod no matter what. They're probably right.

It's insane to believe that the Bears would screw the guy they're paying $60M. He just didn't want competition so he chose Carolina.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has done nothing to warrant a starting job. Hell be a career backup. The Bears aren't serious about upgrading the QB position. Same old, same old.

Remove your emotions from the equation. The Bears offered Bridgewater the same deal that he's getting from Carolina, BUT they wanted him to compete for the job with a guy that you and others believe sucks. That should be something any quarterback is willing to do. ESPECIALLY a quarterback who has a $60M contract.

The Bears gave Dan Trevathan a $24m retirement gift. Once you're in the club, you're in the club. There was zero chance Bridgewater would be the week one starter, they very smartly avoided a toxic situation with a sentimental GM and one of the worst coaches in the NFL.

There is no way in hell he should have to "compete" with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky for a job. It's embarrassing that the Bears would even think that's gonna fly with him.

The Panthers are getting rid of Cam Newton to make Bridgewater the starter. And you think it's ok for him to "compete" with Mitch for the job.

I need to remove my emotion from this discussion? Less finger, more thumb, Nas.

Im now hoping for Brissett. This is getting ridiculous.

I think Carolina may regret this. Bridgewater is really unproven still. I think he should have to compete with a guy like Mitch to win the job.

"a guy like Mitch" is a perfect phrase. He's just a guy. I'll gladly be on the island on this one. Mitch had his shot. Time to move on.

Yup. Floyd is gone.
Not sure how to feel about this now that its semi official.
On one hand we got a guy who will be more productive.
On the other hand it was nice having a guy making huge dollars for doing next to nothing. My lifes ambition.

Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky sucks and anyone who thinks otherwise can contract corona and cough really badly for a few days.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has had the better career. Let that sink. Bridgewater would have been a $60M mistake. We dodged a bullet.

It might have to be Mitch, they are rapidly running out of options and will be forced to reach at QB in the draft. Not sure if you really want Bridgewater here if he's freaked out by the thought of competing, how's he gonna react to the pressure being the starting QB in a major market like Chicago?

Nobody cares about the Chicago media. Major market is true for business but in sports nobody cares about Chicago. We have Zach Zaidman ("duh the last time anyone beat Chicago in 20.4 degree farhenhit weather was in 1943 when Alexander Hutchinson blah blah blah) running around here. Think about that. Nobody gives a shit.

We might want to think about who's really freaked out about competing for their job. Their attitude towards Bridgewater should give you that answer.

Cam, Winston, Dalton and probably Carr are available. Only 1 of those guys have earned the right to be handed a job. Outside of Brady, the Bears haven't missed out on anyone.

They offered him $60M. He has a weak arm and he's no longer mobile. He's been mediocre to bad his entire career as the #1 guy. We dodged a bullet.

Dalton is worse, Carr is slightly better and a healthy Cam is miles ahead. Stop sniffing glue.

That's too much for Teddy, he's better than Mitch but he's not the answer. We need a guy to lead this team for the next 10 years, we gotta draft that man.

Yeah....no.

Cam definitely. Carr I would be good with.

Winston...uh no.

Dalton...Hell no.

Carr and Cam are a definite yes.

I wasn't even that pumped about Bridgewater. The "Mitch has to lose a QB competition" line of thinking is laughable.

How's your boy doing in summer school football 101? I heard the seminar on passing to the open man on time is a real intellectual challenge.

I did not like any of mitch this season, but that does not mean I want to hitch the wagon to Winston or Dalton. Why would you double down on bad?

Winston gives the Bears a better chance at scoring than scatter brained inaccurate Mitch. We can't score.

Which one of his 800 INTs this season was your favorite?

Dalton sucks. Maybe you can convince yourself that with lasik surgery Winston won't throw 40 interceptions. I could live with that.
