Another Sportscenter on regular ESPN starting now.

We have breaking coronavirus news, Kevin Durant and three other players have tested positive. 30 seconds of Woj.

Now, here is more Tom Brady talk

Shut this stupid idiotic moronic worthless thread down.

Bigger story, per the title of this thread, is Brady by miles.

what are you even arguing. all leagues are suspended. march madness suspending overtook the nba pretty easily. and because everything is also suspended, the nba being suspended isn't a story. nba viewership is awful anyways. , the only sports thing going on in nfl free agency, of COURSE that is a bigger story than the nba being suspended. of COURSE the nfl is more popular in the US than the nba. its ok brah

For sure. LTG is the only person who thinks otherwise. Hopefully he will be quarantine without internet very soon.

If the NBA dominates social media (and it does) doesn't that sort of defeat the stupid narrative regarding no one "caring about the NBA"?

Particularly on a forum where the most discussed topic BY FAR is the Twitter account of a non descript radio host?

What's the source in the social media claim? Interested in checking that out.

Talk about "cherry picking" Also from the first page though conspicuously ignored for some reason.

In an off-season marked by big moves by some of its biggest stars, the NBA is flexing its marketing muscles and showing why it continues to outperform all other sports leagues when it comes to social media.

According to a recent report from MVPindex, the NBA grew the value of its social media footprint by a whopping 132 percent year over year (YoY), despite a drop in domestic ratings and impressive inroads into the Chinese and European markets. The league generated a total social value of more than $13.7 billion and created a record $1.1 billion in value for its brand partners, compared with the second-place NFL creating $343 million in value for its brand partners during the same timeframe.

By any measure, these numbers demonstrate incredible value and growth for the NBA and its sponsors, even at a time when their traditional broadcast viewership dipped in 2018-19 by 4% overall and 5% for national games across ABC, ESPN, TNT and NBA TV. Behind this success is a deliberate focus on social media as a value generator, and a consistent and disciplined social media strategy that others would do well to emulate.

How do they do it? First and foremost, they simply post more content—132,000 times more to be exact. However, real social media value does not simply come from the quantity of posts, but the quality of their content. How effective is the content in driving engagement? Do fans like, comment and share the content or simply scroll by it?

I don't know why you're taking this personally. No one is saying you're a problem.
The nfl and it's off season news just dominates nba talk. Why does this anger you so much?
Anyway this is another meltdown you're about to have so I'm out. Take care.

Ah there is the Sigmund that this board seems to know and not really love?

You are sort of deranged dude. You keep popping up yet only to claim that you are disinterested in well, showing up.

There is something a little off with you.

No you had a source that says social media is increasing. That's what I was asking about. I'm not sure I trust a single source but I'll concede that NBA is growing social media in the last year faster than the NFL, assuming your source is accurate

But that article hurts your thesis. Viewership is declining. And when we determine what is a bigger story, ratings matter.

Didn't your crusade start based on ratings? I believe it did.

Anyway it's pretty obvious by checking on sports websites and news outlets what the bigger story is. It was Brady.

That being true is ot an indictment on you. It's just a bigger story. Not a big deal.

In fact I'm watching WGN news right now, lead story was Brady.

Every source that you read will all say that.

Even the Pro NFL guys here have conceded this. The NBA dominates social media.

Brady is the biggest story today. Offseason NFL is a 6 month process however.

Sure. Your source on the first page will do. In fact... you embedded it in your post!
Says right there... viewership down 4% overall and 5% national games.

Well all right then. You've answered the question you asked with your thread. Thank you. And with that, I'm done. See ya!

Again reading is a skill (unfortunately you seem to be lacking in said skill) This was answered a full 3 pages ago but it's got to be great for you to arrive at a conclusion reached hours ago.

long time guy wrote:
None of those stories are as big as the NBA's decision to suspend its season.

There isn't anything to report currently. How many "NBA suspends it season" stories do you think they can run? There is a saturation point.

If the NBA resumes play tomorrow NFL free agency goes on the back burner again.

As far as Social media goes there is no contest. Don't want to compare those figures now do you?

Don't come back now. You hear?
