This is a good problem for your family to have though. Nice work!

The quandry will really arise in the next two weeks when he gets acceptance/rejection letters from the elites. They will undoubtedly give 0 relief if they accept. Then what do you do?

There are some mid tier schools that have already offered enough where the difference between Loyola and them would not be overwhelming. Hopefully we can chisel them down further.

Of course, my state school gave nothing and it would be more expensive to attend there than more preferred locations. Thanks Obama!

I appreciate any counsel on the matter as it has all kind of thrown a curve into the plan...not The Plan. That I understand after Rosner explained it to me.

My son picked U of TN, so now I got a Volunteer and a Hoosier. TN gives automatic money for higher ACT scores. With that money, they are priced close to UIUC.

I was offered a 25% ownership in the company this morning. 99% sure I'm in. Only immediate negative is that it will not be effective until Jan 1, 2021. It comes with a fair amount of perks that should change our lives quite a bit....all for the better.

Thinking about a pay as you post model.

Should help reduce some of the anxiety here while enriching our coffers.

What is the form? Do you have to buy in? Or is it a stock option deal earned through your employment?

What is your relationship with your other partners? How many partners are there?

We are a very small company. There are no stock options. There are three partners currently. One of which has 50% ownership. My Dad had 25% of that, but sold it back just as the crash was hitting. I would be buying 25% from that same partner. I would not be taking a loan, but would pay via end of year profits. So, maybe I give him half of my 25% profit every year until I'm paid off. Something like that. I have been here for 13 years and have a good relationship with all of them.

Sorry, my friends, I am supposed to be on hiatus from posting until after Easter, but I had the greatest day yesterday!!!! If I can just not screw things up--and I am figuring out how to as we speak--things will be ok.

Wow, I am really pumped, and I feel like a normal person again. I hope this will be the best decade of my life.

Sure, it's a little dadgum late, and I'll make sure my kids don't go through all this, but it feels good. And I realize that this might sound cryptic (I'll tell you the details sometime if you really want to know) and a little like one of those "I feel blessed!" FB posts, but whatever. It just seemed natural to post it here, among people I like and actually respect.

Tommy, I hope this all still works out for you.

Even though I have no idea what you're talking about.

Congrats, Doug! Sounds similar to mine. I became partner on January 1. Gradual buy in over the next handful of years, but will be netting a nice chunk of change over that time.

Last week sales were more or less even money with the prior week. Since the dine-in ban we were even again Tuesday (Monday we are closed.) Wednesday we were up 56%. Some of this is good will, and it will dissipate, but it really does give you a George Bailey warm glow. Our neighbors want to see us make it over the hump.

You're thinking of this place all wrong. As if I had the burgers back in the kitchen. The burgers aren't here. Your burger's in Joe's house...right next to yours. And in the Kennedy house, and Mrs. Macklin's house, and a hundred others. Why, you're selling them the patties to eat, and then, they're going to pay it back to you as best they can.

Hey, Sam. Glad to hear things ar going well over there, so far, and hope the continue.

Just wondering, is the traditional closed-on-monday plan driven by sales numbers or personal sanity issues? I realize a small operation may require too much of your time already in six days, but I never understood why a place with multiple managers needed one day off...

I fully expect people to get sick of this sequestering plan pretty quickly and venture back out even more.

I have had Two Post and Three Post at my inlaws beach house all weekend.

This morning we were at the beach and I was doing my normal stuff with them. Playing baseball, chucking them frighteningly high in the air, and spinning them around until they can't stand and are stumbling around. Like I said, just normal stuff that I do all the time.

The beach is pretty deserted all things considered, in addition to today being a horrific weather day down here.

As we were walking home from the beach to my in laws place there was this couple, mid 50s, sitting on a deck of one of the homes near the beach. The wife had a huge smile on here face looking at me. I sorta did the friendly neighbor wave. She stood up and said something like "My husband and I watched you with your kids, it really made us laugh and smile."

I thought it was nothing, and just said the normal thanks, and "it's a lot of work" or something.

She continued with something like "It was really just fun to watch you guys in the moment and know that things are going to get better no matter what is going on in the world, you're a great dad with great kids."

So it was cool for ole One Post because obviously what I was doing wasn't for attention, just regular life, and who doesn't want to be called a good dad. Also, it's kinda cool to know that for a moment even, me and my kids helped brighten the day of a complete stranger. I know complete strangers have done that for me and I've never been able to say anything to them, so I'm glad that the woman said something to me.
