What hold do you think they have over a country where unemployment is going up by entire percentage points every day?

How are you going to deal with them after their behaviour has been enabled by the United States for another decade? That's a fantastic question. It certainly wont be easier then than it would be now.

Imagine all the lives that would've been saved in the USSR or Nazi Germany were strangled in the womb. Enabling China will carry the same types of dire circumstances, actually they'll almost assuredly be worse.

I cannot figure out the people in this country who are pleading with Trump to stop the tariffs on China because of necessary compassion for that country. Screw em. China is not our friend. They are our enemy. Hopefully, the rest of the world deals with them in the same way.

We used to have leverage. I was on the Trump Train. I said constantly, "If not now, when?" I constantly said, "Russia is a paper tiger. China is our existential enemy"

Leverage is gone. Poof!

The silver lining is maybe people now realize the dire economic situation we've had with China for decades.

So what's the suggestion for "dealing with China"?

Dealing with China is pretty easy, just isolate them from the global market as a matter of public health policy. If the United States leads the way the UK and EU will follow suit, from there it'll be an untenable position for the Australians to keep open trade. If China is made accountable to the electorate then it'll be overwhelmingly popular to support embargoes of Chinese products.

And what recourse does China have? None. They cannot stop people from not buying their products or doing trade with them.

To all the people who say this isn't possible, the United States and Europe have basically shut down their economies over this disease. If we are willing to go to thirty percent unemployment over public health we damn well better be willing to cut China off to save lives.

Yeah, piece of cake. They are the only ones up and running or are very shortly. You think they won't leverage that?

How can they leverage that if the rest of the world refuses to trade with them? They surely cannot compel anyone to do anything via force of arms, their military is at best where the USA was in the nineties.

If not dealing with dirty Chinese is a matter of public health policy to protect citizens there's nothing the Chinese can do to force open those doors.
