There are occasional exceptions like Peterson and Tomlinson but yes, generally this is a bad idea unless the guy is superhuman. Gurley was never superhuman.

Peterson and LT have what? 23 seasons in the NFL combined.. zero SB appearance or rings.

Oh stop it, if that's your only barometer of success then you're never going to develop a coherent strategy to do anything. Everyone who has tried to be the Patriots has failed very miserably.

Well its one thing to break guys down a bit to build them back up. Its one thing to fire a guy up to get better, every coach in the world does that.

But to heap shit on a guy for doing what it takes to get better is another thing. Gregg Williams is a very capable coach who wont get another head coaching job for all the wrong reasons, while this will hardly be the last guy like Patricia to get a three-year leash.

All stars should demand the Brady contract.

Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that it is a two-year deal worth $50 million that is all guaranteed. It also includes another $9 million in incentives -- $4.5 million in incentives per year -- and the contract prohibits tags and trades, per sources.

If you tie up big money in a back, you're fucking yourself.. you can add a 3rd or fourth pick into that backfield and get enough out of that position. Running back is the easiest position to fill, look at the dogshit Philly won with, KC win with.. 3 back sharing carries in San Fran. It's a recipe for disaster to pay thee guys.

If we have an NFL season, 11. O.J. Howard will have a breakout year.

Brady is toast and without Belichick he's going to look like a forty-three year old quarterback.

I'm willing to wager that the Bucs will win more games if Brady is healthy

He won't get a head coaching job because he has proven that he is ethically bankrupt, which is a problem for the on field head of an organization. I'd say that is a correct reason.

Arians is no slouch, especially with offenses and QB

He arguably doesn't have a QB.

Brady was washed up last year, he's got no arm strength. The only system he could have somewhat be hidden in was new England, screen passes and dumpoffs..he's got no deep ball, he's even gotta step up to throw 20 yard passes.

I expect Tampa to go 8-8.. think they could have won 9 with Winston, that D was playing good the last month of the season.

Arians will make magic if the line can keep Brady off his ass.

I assume Arians will implement some sort of small white guy slant routes.

i missed that melvin gordon signed with the broncos over the weekend. 2 yrs 13mil guar. 16 mil total. his holdout was a total disaster considering he turned down more $$ from SD in august 2019 and took a hit on fines and missed game checks.

You're fucking dumb if you think you can take me on and win. Ask the dumbasses complaining about the exorbitant cost of Purrell and handsoap on Amazon about me. Ogie knows what's up - he's like a window into my soul.

I would be surprised if that happened now...Gruden has his project in Mariota. I think they're blowing smoke hoping someone moves up to push their real target down. I wouldn't be upset if they still went LB although I'd say its more likely they'd go Queen at this point. I could actually see them trading down a few spots and taking Ezra Cleveland. Apparently they've been trying to move Gabe Jackson and they might wonder if Trent Brown can last an entire season. Cleveland could fill the spot at right guard and kick out to tackle if Brown goes down again.

The Texans continue to be a clusterfuck

Quote:
The Los Angeles Rams are trading wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans in exchange for the No. 57 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora has confirmed. Houston is also receiving a 2022 fourth-round pick

Cooks is a good receiver, he's still young and entering his prime.. he'll make 8 million this year.. not a horrible move by Texans. The five concussions could be a problem though.

I think this is a massive fuck-up unless there is some arcane cap rule that makes Cooks cheap. Colossal downgrade DeAndre Hopkins to Brandin Cooks...and all they got was washed up David Johnson...and now they aren't even really saving any money?

There was a potential shrewdness to the Hopkins trade. Its maybe the deepest wide receiver draft ever. First round talent is sure to be on the board deep into the second round. Its basically trading Hopkins for what they hope can be a cheaper, albeit inferior, version of Hopkins. But that's all fucked up now because they've dealt away the other second rounder they had to get a wide receiver who could very easily be cooked.

Well now there is almost nothing the Bears can do to make their off-season anything other than the thirty-second worst in the NFL.
