And what recourse does China have? None. They cannot stop people from not buying their products or doing trade with them.

I agree with the course of action. It's going to take a lot for it to happen. For national defense purposes we need to take away manufacturing of medicines and telecommunications products. Start doing it slowly, and make it a Cold War era patriotic call of duty. And we absolutely should create a Manhattan Project type of response to China's goal of gaining AI superiority.

Of course it's an overreaction to this bullshit cough, but Rahm said never let a crisis go to waste. This is our chance to hammer those Caller Bobs.

China provides Americans with too many cheap and high quality goods. We don't want to disturb that.

This one might be bullshit, but this is the third respiratory disease to come out of China in the past 15 or so years. Avian Flu killed 60 percent of the people who got it. Are we to believe that another one isn't coming down the line? If a disease that killed like Avian Flu and spread like this was out there it would wipe out billions.

This is exactly why we will never cut china off....that and the fact that they pretty much own the US from the deficit.

They do need to be dealt with, however. This situation is pretty catastrophic and cannot go unpunished.

Now that Iran has deflated, we have to pull a total Trump-Kardashian and bring Russia in/Buy them off so they become our ally and not China's. The time is ripe.

It really wouldn't take much, just maybe arranging some new trade.

Then China would have to get their act together and do things by the book with no manipulation. No way around it.

ANd we need to rethink what we should produce and/or look for other sources of products despite maybe costing more if it is in the strategic interest of the US.

This sounds great in theory (and I support such measures), but you'll never get Europe or other Western countries to go along with it. If you don't believe me, look at the issue with 5G. We pressured key NATO allies to not allow Huawei on 5G networks as the CCP could use that infrastructure to then spy on them. Despite boat loads of evidence detailing this, every NATO country in Europe is pressing ahead with Huawei building their infrastructure. These Eurotwats are content slaves to China.

If you haven't read up on it, here's the background https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/28/tech/hua ... index.html

China is very much like the NBA. They will sell out their values to suck at the teet of China.

Europe is not a position to refuse the United States when it takes a hardline stance. You're either with us, or you're with China. When faced with that choice they'll bitch and moan but China isn't the one with a hundred thousand soldiers already in the UK, Germany and Italy.

Time to bust out the hard power.

Everyone is saying we need to go back to normal after this. I say no,we can not nor should we. We can not go back to reliance on China for all of out medicine ,manufacturing and production needs. Nor should we waste our government money on wasteful and frivolous spending. Back in the 1950s and 60s we had stockpiles of emergency equipment and supplies for national crises. The old fallout shelters. We let programs like that fall by the wayside and instead we “invested” taxpayer money in flowerpots, free college for illegals, free healthcare for illegals, taking in hundred of thousands of refugees who are on the public rolls, we force our children to learn LGBTQ studies instead. So now we are in a very real and deadly crisis. We are seeing how our representatives are leading us. A lot of them are failing badly, grabbing more and more power. Curtailing more and more of our freedoms as given to us in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Is it not surprising that the areas hardest hit are the ones that are the most liberal in outlook and who are “sanctuary “areas and who until this crisis broke thumbed their noses to the Federal government? They talk of putting politics aside yet the bills in Congress that where introduced by democrats where riddled with pork yet they passed quickly and with no undue delay by the other side. Now we have a bill from the republicians stuck because the democrats are monkeying around ,wanting to add this and that for their own little fiefdoms. I won’t even talk about the ones who apparently made money off of inside knowledge. If this does not show that the majority of them need to be voted out of office then the American people deserve what we have coming to us.

God forbid the WH wants the truth about China to get out there, especially in light of Chinese officials and our mainstream media pushing anti-American narratives.

You're right. The problem for these protesters is that China doesn't give a shit about them. ANd unfortunately, there are too many people in this country and around the world who don't give a shit about them either and only want to trade with them until it is too late. Look at history and how past presidents have looked the other way when China has cheated, spied, undercut, and committed genocide and virtual slavery on the people who live within their borders. Businesses the same way. All a bunch of selfish hypocrites. It is sickening.
