The construction and mess is finally all cleaned up on Addison and ready for opening day. All for nothing.

Is that true about Addison? What a mess that has been.

Yes. The worst part on Clark and Addison is all clear. I was just there yesterday.

It really isn’t a joke when I say it is indistinguishable from rosemont

I'll admit there was a certain charm to the way it used to look. But generally, I like what they did with the triangle property. I could do without the hotel. I am not sure that retail space on Addison makes a lot of sense. But overall, the area needed updating, and I am mostly okay with it. It sucks that the rooftops were mostly ruined as I spent a lot of time on those places. But the scoreboards and such are nice when you're in the stadium. Overall, I love Wrigley and the area....still one of the best day of game experiences in MLB.

Love the game day experience, not a fan of the area.... too much of a young, college kid-type vibe.

Wrigley is at its best when it is 2/3 full, so about 25,000 in the house. Then the tight seating and the tiny concourses are less of a challenge.

I miss the weekdays between the 1984 and 1989 teams where I could hop on the L from Northwestern at 12:15pm, grab a soda and a bag of chips from 7/11 across from the ballpark, and get an entire row at the top of section 521 to myself (where the press box is now) for under $15 all in. I could be back at my office by 5:30 and still get six more hours of work in.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone to every single weekday home game with decent weather from 1987 through 1991.

That would have been cool, Chet.

Back in the day, I used to go to 1-3 games a summer. It would always be a Saturday game and usually packed. Of course, I was getting shithammered and I was young so I didn't care.

I think we last went in 2013. Kids didn't like it and it's just not worth the hassle.

Where in Rosemont looks anything like the area around Wrigley?

There is rarely a reason to go to Rosemont unless you live there.

The hell?!? It's the polar opposite: there's no reason to live in Rosemont, but there are lots of things that draw people there from someplace else. This is the "Ron Artest doesn't play defense" of suburban commerce.

To each their own. I live 20 minutes from Rosemont and have rarely found a reason to go there.

Oh, there are reasons to live there if you are of the correct lineage
