As much as I say "nuke" China, I realize that a traditional or even cyber war with them probably wouldn't go well for us. Even an economic war requires the cooperation and sacrifice of other governments. I don't think that we can count on that.

Fucking with China during a recession would be fucking ourselves. The trade deficit last year was $345 billion. It would take a decade with a good economy to get self sufficient.

I have no idea how long it would take but I think a positive that may come out of all of this shit will be the philosophy that this country needs to be able to not only defend itself from military attacks but also to defend itself much better against this kind of attack by countries that are pretty much our enemy. Fortunately Trump had already taken actions to look for other suppliers to provide the US and the rest of the world the products which we need including drug suppliers.

I don't even know what a hot war with China would look like. Probably the end of the world. And I don't really believe this was a purposeful biological attack. I think someone got sloppy at that lab or maybe the lab sold dead animals that they used for experiments to one of those markets. I think China itself is taking the worst of it and lying about it. That's bad enough though. The more information the better when it comes to fighting this thing.

Whatever, we have to play nice with China for the time being, but I think after this virus is under control we can move toward isolating them and we can pressure Europe if need be. I don't think too much pressure is really necessary. I have to believe that no one is happy with China as their economies crash and their citizens die.

Well it'll be interesting to see what happens with Huawei in Germany. They were on the verge of stopping short of a total ban before this hit, China of course warned "consequences" if Germany didn't draft PRC-written legislation. I expect there will be a ton of reassessing that relationship very soon.

But at the end of the day they are occupied territory. Itlay, UK, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Poland and Turkey house American military bases. They will do what they are told, though I suspect it wont take much strong-armed to get them in line.
