Yup

Honorable mention to Clapton's solo run too.

At least he has a few decent covers out there (After Midnight, Cocaine, etc). There is nothing redeeming from Stewart's solo catalog.

Good one. Although, I'm also not sure how that one record ever sold either...it was garbage.

Maggie May isn't a bad song. Stewart solo after about 78, maybe, just bad.

Clapton solo is godawful.

The Suburbs is about where I stopped with them...rightly so.

Shame, too, for a band that was really good. Used to be a staple of classroom listening.

it there any act that had a more sudden and steep fall? aside from people who died or whatever.

That's a good question.

The Kinks, maybe, but they had split up I think? Genesis had a few solid albums after Gabriel left, but then they became pop vomit.

The Kinks were relevant for at least 20 years. Then they broke up. Ray has remained relevant for nearly the entire time since the early/mid 60s.

The thing that locks The Kinks up was that American Federation of Musicians ban in the late 60's. Such a great group, though

There's about 3 solid songs on the debut, but can't argue with the data. The debut sold 4million +. the followup was loud thump of nothing.

Agreed on Clapton solo. hot garbage.
Rod Stewart solo? 3 good songs and a career's worth of utter shit. Great add.

I was in high school in that era...everything about them is just...forgettable.

I think I even had the album on cd...It might even be in my basement.

RPB had a good rant about Candlebox back in the day. Wish that thread could be dug up.

I liked Motherless Children.

Limp Bizkit is not a pop act correct?

Methods of Mayhem was somehow even worse.

The live album EC Was Here is stellar. The album with Duane Allman is also very good.

KISS.....Gene and Paul are certainly un-likeable but Destroyer through Love Gun is credible rock. Creatures of the Night is also very good. Yes, they were always marketing over music, but there is some quality there. Plus....I fucking love Ace Frehley's guitar playing.

For me personally:
1. Def Leppard - Post Pyromania
2. Shania Twain

There's a theme here....anything touched by Mutt Lange is complete garbage.

Finally someone else gets it!!! Let's get rocked and Honey I'm home are the same half assed, cliche ridden, over produced pile of shit.

Barenaked Ladies

They are pretty much the equivalent of two youth group leaders jammin out at the summer retreat. If you could imagine two Dave Matthews singing back and forth two each other with a far less talented band of musicians you've got the barenaked ladies.

No one will ever dispute Shania Twain's looks.....that shitty ass music was on EVERYWHERE at the time. Fucking awful.

Pour Some Sugar On Me was the same song as Any Man Of Mine.

Re: Shania Twain -- I occasionally listen to "Still The One" and "From This Moment" because they're well written love songs and I can jack off to the videos. Listen to "Man, I feel like a Woman" and "Uncle Salty" from Aerosmith's Toys In The Attic. How did she not get sued?

I definitely am not a BNL fan, but I'll put on One Week just so I can rap along with the fast verses every blue moon.

Not a huge Clapton fan, I think there are better guitar players from his generation/era, but he's nothing to shrug at. I love "Bad Love", I think that's Phil Collins on drums. Great song.

Apparently none of you have heard "Every Picture Tells A Story" by Rod Stewart. Awesome album. I like a bunch of his other stuff too.
I remember seeing Jellyfish open for The Black Crowes at the Aragon when I was in high school, and the sound guy played the entire EPTAS album when they were changing stage sets. That album is essential.

Reflektor was like Arcade Fire's 4th or 5th album. Not a sophomore slump. I didn't love them that much to begin with, but Neon Bible is good and "Ready To Start" is just as great an anthem as "Wake Up" is.

I have absolutely ZERO constructive comments when it comes to Candlebox.
Worse than Alice In Chains, and that's saying something.
