I said something similar to a relative back in January. This is how I think a lot of horrible childhood diseases should be funded. Let people keep their insurance, but insure against particular catastrophic medical events for which a family cannot possibly plan.

I'd be out licking subway poles so my family could get far stacks when I inevitably got the Rona and died.
