Some rain headed in this weekend, and it is a perfect opportunity to throw down your first application of fertilizer/pre-emergent. I put down a heavy dose of Milorganite last weekend and that plus the rain and tstorms we had this week really made the lawn take off. If you plan on using weed and feed, wait until AFTER the rain when the forecast dries up and apply it to wet grass and weeds so it sticks for at least a few days and can work it’s magic. I saw some lawns in my neighborhood sprouting dandelions already. Don’t use weed and feed until you actively see weeds growing. Nows the time to start turning your yard around with good fertilization and weed control.

Edit - oh yeah, try to lightly rake the grass and stir things up a bit prior to that first app. Need to get some air flow in there and get some soil contact.

Just bought a new Honda mower. Pretty happy to use that later today.

Honda motors are the best. Start first pull every time for years on end.

Just finished my spring yard work. Mulch was very hard to find as Lowe’s and HD were sold out. Blain’s Farm and Fleet had what I needed. Great day for yard work.

Already sipping Corona’s and burning shit in my fire pit.

Agree they are the best engines...but I switched from a Honda HRC commercial mower to an Echo 58v a few years ago and would never go back to gas. No fumes, no buying gas and oil, and the batteries work on the string trimmer, blower, pole saw, hedge clippers, and edger.

I started collecting Stihl tools which work with the same motor, but it’s gas. I have some battery, some gas, and some electric. Ads/disads with each.

They moved up yard waste pick up by three weeks and starts this week. I have 8 paper bags of leaves I need to transfer into biodegradable garbage bags but just thankful they are coming. The drop off site is closed until end of the month. Yesterday I put 100 lbs of polymeric sand on my paver stone driveway and it took two hours to sweep it in all the cracks. My shoulder is killing me today. I had to mist it down three separate times to activate the sand. Turned out pretty good in my opinion.
