There are a lot of people in this thread who are clearly uneasy with China being blamed for anything and feel compelled to drag Trump into any discussion of China in an attempt to muddy the waters. Are they paid Chinese shills? Almost assuredly not. But they are certainly doing China's work for them when they act like this.

Even Kellyanne makes a mistake once in a while...
“This is COVID-19 ― not COVID-1, folks,” Conway said during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.” “And so you would think the people charged with the World Health Organization would be on top of that.”

Note: COVID-19 stands for “coronavirus disease 2019” and is reflective of the year it was identified, not the number of previously documented diseases.

I can't even imagine what dinner at the Conway's would be like.

I have George's cell, I think about calling and asking every once in a while.

He's probably not eating dinner if he's smart. He's a world class piece of shit though. Tell him I said it!

Honestly, fuck the Chinese government, and the southern part of the country where they are eating dogs, cats, pangolins, and bats.

Eating? Dude they burn dogs alive as an efficient way of slaughtering them. If the truth about this behaviour got the reporting it deserves the heat on China would be fifty times what it is now. Their values are so counter to ours it is like a different planet.

I respectfully disagree. This whole blame WHO game is muddying the waters. The fact it is even being discussed is muddying the waters. What information was relayed by China and when should have been the focus. Instead...we go after WHO? As stated earlier: Shitting on the WHO at this time is misplaced aggression.

It’s pretty easy to shit on China, the WHO, and Trump together with varying aggression.

I have been very consistent in making sure there is no distinction in my posts between the WHO and China, if you've gotten that impression then I've done a poor job.

Yep. I agree completely. But Obama. But the Governors. But China. Now But the WHO. Notice a pattern? Trump had the information and did nothing and now he is trying to cover his own ass.

If all of this "misinformation" was being provided in real time then why was the reaction of South Korea to it much different than the reaction of Trump?

If everyone was so misinformed then why was the reaction of South Korea completely different than ours?

Ouch!

Although the Trump administration has claimed that Chinese scientists have refused to share data, most American scientists do not agree. They note that a Chinese laboratory posted the genetic sequence of the virus in early January, making it possible for laboratories across the world to start working on diagnostic tests. Since then, Chinese scientists have published dozens of data-filled papers

The NYT article he is pulling that from is straight-up China worship propaganda that is honestly nauseating. It advocates for welding people inside their homes if they go outside too much. Its some scary shit.

How are those scientists not sharing how China has gotten the death rate of the virus in China to virtually 0?

You're honestly a traitor not just to your country, but to the human race, spouting this nonsense.

If you hate Trump that is OK, but dont become a sympathizer with an amoral regime that poses no less a threat to the global order than Nazi Germany or the USSR because you hate Trump so much. That is taking it too far. A lot of you are very concerned with putting yourselves on the right side of history, well right now you look exactly like those who mad similar excuses about the Nazi's or Stalinists before their atrocities came to light.

All because you hate Trump, and cannot stand that the political opportunity to blame Trump for all of this is in an election year is being undermined by the objective reality that communist China and its lapdog propaganda wings are the chief culprit for this global catastrophe. That's all it is about. You aren't worried about the the truth, you are worried that it wont make people support your side in a coming election.

Unironically neck yourselves you subhuman traitorous Chinese shills.

Jesus Christ you fucking loon. From the WHO timeline, they clearly state there "may have been" h2h communication on Jan 14. On Jan 22 they stated there definitely was h2h communication of the virus...but they wanted more testing done.

Were they soft on China? Clearly. But what are they supposed to do?

China clearly fucked up. They continue to fuck up.

They also continue to supply the majority of PPE to the world. Maybe we should cut china off, sanction them, tariff them to death. Then maybe there aren't any more PPE shipments coming out of china and we're even more fucked for a month or 20 until other sources can fill the void.

Honestly GJ, I’m very worried nothing in the way of sanctions, or regulations, or any sort of “discipline” is going to happen to China because of this pandemic.

That is one of the more frustrating aspects of watching CNN or MSNBC.

It’s predominantly Get Trump.

All we can really do is censure them. There aren't going to be any real sanctions for a while.

Best thing we can do is move more of the manufacturing burden back into the States, Canada, Mexico, etc. That's going to take time.

If we are a lot less reliant on China for so many things, they're going to be more willing to play ball. Right now, they still have the world by the short hairs.

You are a one note song. I didn't need a "Novel virus" in order to become informed about the "evils of China". Nor did I need "save Trump's bacon" in order to all of a sudden become a humanitarian.

China is what China is and so is Trump. They can be mutually exclusive.

By giving up your pension or 401K.

They go to China to untap potential markets in order to keep stock prices growing.

Not sure. It'd be nice if everyone would understand that billion dollar corporations dont care about the USA, or any individual place on the planet. They have agendas.

Let's start by getting rid of Citizens United.

LTG's sarcastic use of quotes as it pertains to the "evils of China" kind of indicates that he's a legit sympathizer. Basically no different than a Nazi or Bolshevik.
