Mac and Parkins calling these people in Michigan COV-IDIOTs.

Yeah it is such a shame to see people use their constitutional rights.

You can't. You can highly suggest that people stay the heck in their urban hellholes they spend most of the year in, but they can't stop you.

I'm not really defending it. I do think some Governors have gone overboard in the restrictions. However, it seems as if they do have that right. It may be time to change that.

What gives them the right to deny people the ability to peacefully assemble protest, and to arrest those who are peacefully protesting that don't comply?

There was one person arrested. Let's not get crazy here.

That is how it starts.
HMmm how does that poem go?

I agree, but if you go read the coverage of it, it was pretty clear she wanted to be arrested. Probably to elicit responses like this. Most everybody showed up and honked their horns and left when they were told by LEO's.

I don't think this breaks down along typical political lines. I know liberals and conservatives that are hardcore pro-lockdown and liberals and conservatives who think we need to get back to business.

Forget about the obvious issues regarding freedom. From a strict economic perspective this is a disaster even if you ignore the tyranny. It might be more pressing for these guys if they weren't getting paid on contracts. Parkins is what, early 30s? Has he accepted that the money he is making now is by far the highest paying job he is ever likely to have?

FF this arrest was nothing more than the people who purposely lay down in front of cars wanting the CPD to lock them up. The protest was fine. It was peaceful. One person wanted to be an asshole to get their name in the paper. They succeeded. They are getting the reaction they wanted. What part am I missing?

Why are we cool with ANYONE getting arrested for peacefully protesting and exercising their First Amendment right?

I don't care if it was one person.

Saying that the right to protest isn't essential should have grave consequences for ANY government official.

I really would have loved to see your reaction if it had been the guy in the tan suit standing in the rose garden saying he had unlimited power and if you don't like it fuck off there will be consequences. We all know how well you would have taken that.

You’re missing the fact that the police aren’t supposed to be able to arrest citizens peacefully protesting.

If you live in Livonia and want to go to your summer home in the UP, you cannot.

If you live in Milwaukee and want to go to your summer home in the UP, you can.

That is just poorly thought out.

The Michigan governor is trying to legislate against what she thinks is stupidity. That doesn't work, especially when it is hastily put together. Why is buying paint illegal? Can't one buy paint at a safe distance? Or flowers for a garden.

All this is going to do is turn out R turnout for November. But she is trying to be VP, and out abundance everyone else's "caution."

Right and you’re missing the fact the this is done to get attention. I don’t agree that protestors should be arrested, but i’m also not going to sit here and pretend they don’t make damn sure they do.
