well, looks like I'm going to have plenty of time to figure this out. Puppies were born this morning, but only 3 males in the litter. We had dibs on males 3 and 4. Breeder gave me the option of getting one now and one later, but we decided to just wait and get 2 at once. She is planning to breed the same dog again in August so it's looking like we will have puppies in December/January. We'll get first pick in that litter. Kinda sucks, but maybe for the best. Gives us more time to work on getting the house all furnished and ready for the dogs. also, with everything going on now, it might not be a bad idea to wait and let things calm down even more than they would be this summer. Would suck to get the dogs and then not be able to socialize them with other dogs and people once they are old enough.

Last two males we lost were rescues and had anxiety issues and sprayed. Taught the other males to do same a,though it is rare now and the remaining dogs live outside 18 hours a day anyways (by their choice in a big backyard)

As I’m starting the process of replacing my shorthair my wife keeps strongly suggesting a female. She’s probably right.

We still have our female Weim...she's 12. Weims have separation anxiety in general...they are not good being left alone all day. The male was much much worse than our female. We also have a female Chihuahua....oddly enough she marks outside like crazy, but is fortunately really good inside the house. Outside of her hysterical barking at strangers like all Chihuahuas
