I swear there was a thread on this but I can't find it. Mods or posters, feel free to bump that one with this info:
Quote:
ESPN moving up highly anticipated Michael Jordan documentary in wake of coronavirus
By Andrew Marchand

March 30, 2020 | 10:39pm

ABC/ESPN’s highly anticipated 10-part Michael Jordan documentary, “The Last Dance,” is being moved up to April, The Post has learned.

Sources said the start date will be Sunday, April 19. It was originally slated for June.

ABC/ESPN plans to make an announcement on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, according to sources.

ESPN declined to confirm either the start date or the GMA plan.

The documentary was set to debut in June prior to the coronavirus outbreak that has halted games at all levels of competition.

Social media has implored ESPN/ABC to move up the documentary’s beginning because of the hunger for new sports programming. ESPN and its four partners, including Netflix, Jordan, the NBA and Mandalay Sports Media, have heard the calls and have acted on them. Netflix owns the international rights to the docuseries.

I didn't know NetFlix was involved. It will be on ABC here I bet.

Good. I was saying aloud a week ago to my wife that they should push this up and then the next day it was announced that it wouldn't be moved up cause it wasn't finished. Looks like they got it finished.

I see in the promotional stuff that Kerr appears to be getting top billing along with MJ, Scottie, Rodman, and Phil.

Lol. I'm well aware that Jordan is one of the most accomplished and driven players ever. He's just not the most talented.

He is, but I get that people think rebounds and assists matter more than they do. Poor MJ has been lapped by LeBron and Russell Westbrook.

Lol the classic Rick fallacy. You must put a premium on Ricky Davis. That guy did the right thing by not caring at all about anything outside of scoring.

And defense. Scoring and defense wins games. Imagine if James Harden was also the DPOY and you might start getting an idea of how good Jordan actually was. All trolling aside, LeBron has never been close to as good or dominant as MJ was from 1988-1998.

These are the lengths required to try and defend the old thought that LeBron could catch Jordan.

He could have caught him but didn't. I don't see how the thought that LeBron is more talented but less accomplished than MJ is so controversial. Actually it's only controversial within Illinois and maybe a few surrounding states.

You really want to turn this into a semantics argument? Or are you trying to settle for "LeBron was more talented but just wasn't as dominant because... reasons"?

Plenty of talented people fail to convert that talent into accomplishments. Do you want to really say Gary Payton or Charles Barkley weren't dominant players because they didn't win anything while they were in their primes?

It's mostly because there isn't really a case that LeBron is more talented. He is taller and weighs more but that isn't talent.

The "more talented" seems to be a way to say something about LeBron is better that is so subjective that you can't argue against it. If LeBron were truly "more talented" then there is no reason he also wouldn't be a better player unless we are calling LeBron lazy.

Can you describe what more talented actually means?

I didn't bring up winning in this thread

It amuses me that you're so used to the same old arguments you're trying to argue things I haven't mentioned.

Payton and Barkley were awesome players, obviously. LeBron is too.

He cannot, because the rest of your post summed it up pretty succinctly.

This is it, exactly. And since LeBron's entire year round schedule revolves around him maintaining his body and trying to improve his game, I'm going to confidently say he tried as hard as he could to surpass Jordan as the GOAT. He just wasn't talented enough to do it. No shame in being the 4th or 5th best player ever to play the game.

Here is another good article on getting Jordan to agree

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/290 ... e-possible

I love the part where they tell him the guy put together the documentary on Iverson and Jordan is like I love that little guy

Trying to imagine the combination of sheer excitement and fear Iverson must have felt simultaneously after crossing his childhood idol over and nailing the J. To Jordan's credit he recovered nicely and still contested the shot a bit.

They should've had a blown up image of Krause eating a doughnut in the background with a trail of crumbs running down the front of his shirt.

Krause's face in the background like Vader's was in the Empire Strikes Back poster
