West is the greatest I've seen. The fact that he couldn't win more with 2 top 10 all time greats and the greatest coach tells you how hard it is and also how great Jordan was.

Riley would probably be 2nd after West for me. The same applies. He had 3 great young players and only won 2. It's difficult to find the right complimentary guys.

Who are the 2 top 10 all time greats that you continuously reference?
If you mean Magic and Kareem then there are good reasons for that.

Magic and Kareem were before the free agency era, I'm talking about Shaq and Kobe.

Shaq isn't regarded as a top 10 All time player and I doubt that Kobe is either.

Man oh man, I have to see your top ten list after that statement.

No particular order but obviously Jordan would be #1
Jordan
Wilt.
Magic
Kareem
Lebron
Duncan
Bird
Oscar
Hakeem
Dr.J

Bill Russell in place of Dr J and you got a pretty good list

I believe the Bulls did a sign-and-trade with Houston so Pippen could get a max contract.

 Good job throwing "doubt" in there, even though you didn't mean it.

Kobe wouldn't be in my top 10 players all time. Just hadn't had time to think about it much. That's why I thought he was talking about Magic and Kareem.

Where would you place Kobe and Shaq? Is LeBron ahead of them?

Lebron is ahead of both. More years as an elite player though the best of Shaq was more dominant than either of the other two at their respective peaks.

I was a huge Doc fan as a kid. Everyone was. Philly was my squad. They never seemed to quite have enough til Moses came along. The Lakers and Celtics were just juggernauts. I was always impressed by the way he was able to compete with them. Philly had talent and was well coached but the other two were just better.

Doc was a beast of a player though.

I wasn't born when Russell played (Nor Wilt but I have seen much more footage of Wilt over the years) but I always felt that Russell benefitted greatly from playing with other great players. He was the best of the group but wasn't dominant. That's just from what I have read about him.

Pippin still ended up making 109 million in his NBA days. Two other guys in that era with long careers. Barkley 43, and Karl Malone 105.

Didn't do as big of a ratings number as I thought it would.

6.3 million for episode 1 and 5.8 million for episode 2.

Still the highest rated ever documentary for ESPN, and their best same-day rating since sports stopped. source

Go over there and create one - I'm sure we'll flock to it in droves.

That shit had already been on. Atwater is probably dead next season and Emily is going back to school. You all had 4 days and earlier Sunday to watch those shows. You gotta put your sports foot down.

I just came back into this thread and cannot believe that Nas has Riley above Red Auerbach as a team architect. What he did to build just the eighties team was amazing. And that's not even talking about the maneuvering to be in position to draft Len Bias.

Youth is no excuse sonny.
