Criticizing the owner who has won more championships than any other owner in the free agency era should stop. The slurping of Kraft and the hate for Uncle Jerry is ridiculous. Uncle Jerry is in the top 5 of owners in the history of sports when it comes to championships and MANY unreasonable people hate that.

exactly. And he wasn't even the real owner. He was the local guy who the rest of the owners had represent them in front of the cameras. Pretty sure the big guy in Kansas City owns more of the team than Reinsdorf.

I did some poking around and apparently Lester Crown of the prominent Crown family has, or at least had, the largest ownership share.

Take every owner that has ever existed. Subtract all championships won with the best player they ever had.

Name the list of great owners who have more than 1 ring based on that criteria.

This whole Let Us Now Praise Fortunate Owners thing is such a weird exercise in cherry-picking. Who owned the New York Islanders when they won four championships in a row? I'm a hockey obsessive and I have absolutely no idea. I guess I never cared because everyone gives Bill Torrey, Al Arbour, and the players credit for winning four championships in a row.

Yes this whole thing is dumb.

Shocking that it caught Bob's attention ...

It's funny: I know who bought the Islanders while pretending to be a millionaire and squatting in a model home (John Spano), and I know who tried to build a new arena connected to a lighthouse that would be nowhere near the coastline (Charles Wang), and I know who owns them now (Katie Ledecky's uncle), but the guy who owned the Isles when they were actually really really good? No clue! Well, you did great, whoever you were. I'm sure you're known as "Uncle whatever" to some annoying Italians in the suburbs.

Who ever heard of a dynasty that an owner stopped dead in its tracks? Sounds like an idiot Major League movie spinoff.

The Oilers traded Wayne Gretzky on the heels of two Cups in a row, four Cups out of five, and five Final appearances in six. Then they won a fifth time with everyone else anyway. That's the closest I can think of. The '97 Marlins don't count; they were always meant to be a one-off.

Uncle Jerry offered Jordan and others a 10% raise to come back.

That was a pretty hollow offer considering he knew they were not going to come back to play for a different coach and Phil was done.

Diva Phil destroyed the dynasty of 2 teams and then completely destroyed another team.

That's nice he offered Pippen what? 10% raise on his not quite 2 mil a year? Nah. Here's what you do. You give Pip 1/15 mil. Give Jackson 8, Give your tribesman a year sabbatical, then watch your franchise go from the 9.2 mil original investment to its eventual 2.5 billion worth. You shut the fuck up, you smile, and you enjoy the 98-99 season. And from that point on, we ALL can call you Uncle Jerry.

He gave Scottie a max deal. Just about every Bull got paid. Even fucking Jud Buechler got $30M. Jordan's stubbornness and stupidity allowed him to be played by the Wizards. All would have been better off to tell Diva Phil to fuck off.

Jerry Krause may be the meme of the series, but he is not the villain in The Last Dance. He is merely the act 1 villain, you know, the dorky little shit villain in the Bond film who is dead midway through the film. Jerry Reinsdorf is the real villain and piece of shit in this story.

Fuck him. I said this before, but when he croaks, I will buy tickets for whatever Sox game they are giving him his moment of silence so that I can give him the Dollar Bill treatment

Phil Jackson is the real villain. He is a manipulating piece of shit. LeBron calling him out made a lot of people finally see what he is.

He also gave him $10M when he was done and paid him to be an ambassador when he was having financial problems. Uncle Jerry is loyal.
