I am fine with this draft. If they liked guys in the second, then grab them. They weren’t huge reaches. I thought OL was a big need, so I agree with those comments. But often you can pick up guys that get cut as the season approaches.

I know. Grote and/or Hub will be on tomorrow to analyze the 7th rounders.

Mooney was widely predicted to be round 7/ UDFA. Just saying.

At this point in the draft these projections mean nothing and vary widely. I do think he was a late riser and may account for some still having him listed that late.

I just read one having him as a 4th round projection. CBS draft analysis had him higher and give the Bears an A for that pick.

Incidentally, Hub claims the Bears got one of the steals of the draft with Jaylon Johnson. Also says his shoulder problems aren't that serious.

yeah the Bray stuff was concerning. Surely they can't do that.

I really like the Johnson pick the more I read on him. The shoulder stuff is concerning. But he did only miss like 1 game in college and he played the last year thru his injury. Seems like a tough kid that really loves football.

Mooney sounds like a pretty good pick, somewhat reminiscent of Johnny Knox. I loved that little guy.

No amount of delusion out of Ryan Pace would surprise me.

This was clearly done so we could say he drafted two offensive linemen at the press conferences.

Funniest name contest by position --

Offensive tackle: Arlington Hambright, Colorado
You have to have a special name to beat out Prince Tega Wanogho for this spot. On that note: ARLINGTON. HAMBRIGHT.

Arlington Hambright sounds like a brigadier general in an all-swine Civil War re-enactment. It’s perfect.

Hub was shooting down anyone that questioned Pace, said repeatedly that Pace was in no danger of losing his job. He even compared him trading up to Belichick! A few things seem obvious after the draft, the like Bush at SS, if your a CB and your last name isn't Fuller your roster spot is not secure, they think the OLine is OK as constituted, they think the QB situation is OK, and Nagy thinks his offense will be better under Foles.

Depending how deluded they are, they either expect Foles to rescue them or they are desperately hoping Foles rescues them.

Should put Bears just where they need to be heading into next year’s draft.

Well, I guess that's that for a QB.

"I really wanted that guy from James Madison but the Cowboys picked him. Maybe next year."

Tyler Bray has one pass attempt in seven seasons and is 28. I doubt he would be on any other roster at this point.

Hub seems to have changed a lot the last 10 years or so. I never minded him before even when I disagreed with him but now he sounds like a crazy person.
