I also dont think the Packers get nearly enough shit for the AJ Dillon pick. At the surface level, like an absolutely bland superficial surface level, it makes sense to draft a near physical clone of Derrick Henry after seeing what Derrick Henry just did to the NFL.

But AJ Dillon isn't Derrick Henry. He's not even close. Derrick Henry the prospect was a Heisman winner who ran for over 2000 yards and score almost thirty fucking touchdowns against SEC competiton. He bulldozed Auburn for 267 yards.

I dont even need to tell you Dillon didn't achieve even half those numbers and he failed to do it against much less athletic competition.

I think the Packers reacted to getting pasted by the 49ers twice by basically imitating everything about them. Kind of "that wont happen again" idea...which is fine in some ways but probably not a great way to devise a draft strategy.

The comp was their physical stature and running style?

Alabama RBs have it easiest in NCAA. Bama has multiple 1st round players on their line each year. They’ve been middling to busters in the NFL

That being said the pick sucked.

The place they really got beaten up against the 49ers was the DL, which they did not improve upon. I guess they think the Smiths will have a second round of career years.

You can see the Pack decline and it is beautiful

I like AJ Dillon. BC had NOTHING but him and he couldn't be stopped.

Eddie Lacey was fat in the midsection. Dillon is big in the lower body.

A little concerned at the heavy work load and his running style but you use him up for four years and spit him out. He'll make Jones expendable when he becomes expensive

I dont think they are trying to stop the 49ers, I think they are trying to become the 49ers.

The 49ers OL is populated by high round draft picks.

Correct. They should just have the balls to trade Rodgers now but they don't.

THIS.....can't say they're trying to be the 49ers at all. The 49ers clearly care about 1 thing....the Jim Finks model of building around the lines. Everything else is secondary.

That is NOT the Packers.

They drafted a Fullback in the 3rd round and followed that with three straight OL picks.

He might be ok...he's the nimblest 250 pounder I've ever seen. You think he's going to run a guy over and instead he makes a cut and goes around. He seemed better in the passing game (I've seen it as a con) though his opportunities were limited.

Packers have an All-Pro LT (4th round), above average C (5th round), future All-Pro guard (2nd round).

That's a start...

Dillon is fun to watch if you haven't seen him. Its like ordering steak and getting salmon. He's not what you're expecting. When you see 250 pounds you're expecting Bettis or Henry but his comp is more like Le'Veon Bell.

None of it really matters because of their 1st round pick. If Love turns out to be great that would be such a kick in the nuts to the rest of the NFC North though

They were all in on Love. After that he said they were looking to trade up for a couple WR in round 2 and after those 2 were selected there were none left they felt would make an impact.

Its like Pace is doing all he can to unintentionally get fired and Gutekunst does all he can to intentionally get fired.

The Love pick redeems Gute for that awful Gary pick last year.

I didn't know Florio had a burner site for rating team's draft picks.

That can't be Florio...he's too busy shaming social distancing violators.

The Stokely and Zach show in Denver are "monitoring the situation" with Rodgers. They made an offer of 2 1st rounders...

Does anyone know how Rodgers' contract is structured? When McKenzie did Carr's contract we could move on after 2 seasons without taking a huge cap hit due to the guaranteed money up front. McKenzie brought that strategy from Green Bay.

Its an outrageous cap hit right now but if they wait 2 years then its not a big deal especially if Love is starting on a rookie deal.
