Of all the things to rip on Boylen for, this isn't one of the top ones. Robert Horry made some big playoff shots in his career, but overall they are similar players. Comparing Horry's entire career to Kornet in his third year seems dumb.

If Robert Horry played in today's NBA, he would be an average 3-and-D player. Otto Porter will less minutes. Still better than Kornet, but not some legend.

If Robert Horry played on awful teams his numbers would have been better too.

Luke Kornet is a bum and they aren't similar players either. Horry was a hybrid and Luke Kornet is a Center.

Horry was also a very good defender too. Kornet is a turnstile

The one thing that you happened to be honest about is that you don't really know who Horry was. Apparently your Stats intensive "analysis" was unable to provide clarity for you.

Robert Horry is a clerk at Target.

And still not a similar basketball player to Luke Kornet.

This was always about salaries. They're still paying Hoiberg around 2.5M this year after factoring in the offset from his deal in Nebraska. Boylen is getting 1M this year. A serious coach would cost at least 2.5 - 3M. They weren't gonna pay 5-6M in coach salaries so they went cheap with Boylen. It was always about money.

More reason that this idiot has to go.
https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/b ... story.html
Quote:
The Bulls were down 10 points with 30.3 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of an eventual 112-104 loss to the Suns on Saturday night, which ran their season-long losing streak to eight games, when coach Jim Boylen called a timeout.

Boylen has remained unapologetic in his attempt to use the final seconds as teachable moments for his young and scuffling team, but this timeout visibly bothered guard Zach LaVine, who was caught by television cameras shaking his head as he bent over at the waist and mouthed “Why call a timeout down 10?” with an added expletive.

Continues to teach his young guys that their coach is a meathead. Again, as I said last year, I implore Michael Reinsdorf to fire Boylen and put Paxson on the bench to coach out the year. If Pax doesn't want to, fire him too. This is no time to be chaos-averse.

It is so apparent that Boylen has lost these guys. Any changes they make has to include a new coach.

Of course he is gone. Whenever the NBA makes some kind of announcement regarding this season (which should be coming soon), I'm sure he'll be out within 3 days.

Many believe there is a strong chance that he will be brought back.
