I remember a made for TV movie about Wayne Williams when I was a kid. Must have been mid to late 80s. Anyway, even back then the movie made it seem like he didn't do it.

Just about every account I've read has indicated that the pattern of killings stopped with his arrest. Can you point me in the direction of a source that says otherwise?

As I said, after 35 more years of examples, we have learned that serial killers tend to not just stop on a whim so the cessation of the killings coinciding with his arrest is something that can't be ignored.

I'm willing to entertain that some of the murders weren't committed by Williams and were grouped as his victims, but from what I've seen he certainly was responsible for a good number of the bodies. DNA evidence examined decades later (which wasn't available of course in the 1980s) has shown he certainly was responsible for at least some of them

And RR, if you haven't checked it out yet, go watch Mindhunter on Netflix as season 2 deals heavily with this case.
