Listen, Joker, I have a Big Five accountant and a bookkeeper who use return-checking software to file all of my stuff. If anything was not punched-in correctly or owed, the software typically red-flags it. Anytime I submit a return, it is always cleared for submission by both the software and the highly-experienced accountant. I talked to my guy, and I could fight this, and he said that I would likely win, because he believes that they are wrong, however, it it is such a de minimus amount, that it would actually not be worth my time to even wait on hold, if indeed they even had offices still open to take such calls amid this crisis.

It is within my rights to bitch and complain about it to you fellows, though.

Yeah it sucks. I even do my own taxes, but it is getting hard even with TurboTax. The 529 stuff is stupid difficult because the universities don’t put all the costs on the forms they send you.

I often thought about doing taxes when I retire. But I do not practice in public audit. Frankly I took the CPA exams for fun. I wanted to learn about taxes and auditing. My discipline is security analysis and financial accounting.

This, and the fact that IDOR doesn't send a first letter that is "threatening" to anyone other than a guy like Panther.

I received a letter last fall from a return filed five years prior.

Nothing threatening in the least, and they cut all penalties and fees for a quick payment resolution too.
