The world has changed fundamentally and whats best for the economies of Australia, New Zealand, USA, SEA and Japan is the utter and complete annihilation of China by either famine or aerial hellfire. Once that's taken care of we can go back to abandoning bullshit globalist economics.

The agreement was there. It was done. Years and years go negotiation. Built to fight against China. Donny Dumbfuck pulled out and now he's scrambling.

Maybe you don't remember, but a lot of people beyond Trump thought that was a bad deal. In fact, Hillary Clinton was staunchly against it:

Aware.

They were all wrong. Neither Dems or Repubs had the nuts to pass it.

TPP was just another off shoring, big business investment. Just more sweatshops in Malaysia and Brunei and Vietnam.

yep.....and I'm sure anyone that supported it got a taste. Again....short-term vision.

China is starting to bully countries that are asking questions about the virus. The Aussies arent very happy. Wonder if they have enough stones to make a change. They are totally dependent on China and may have trouble getting away from them.

Winston Peters told the Chinese ambassador to New Zealand to "ask her master". They are tired of the Chinese, both of them.

But of course they need a big trading partner. They had the UK for the better part of 150 years, then they had the USA, now they have China. The USA needs to reassert itself in the region, a deal specifically aimed at Australians and New Zealanders.

Of course it will never happen since there's nothing to exploit from them and our foreign policy has turned into this zero sum game globalist nightmare scheme that revolves around finding new cheap labour.

We can just make them territories of the US, like Puerto Rico. Problem solved!

What the hell. Seems like we are losing control of our Universities. I think there may need to be some big changes or we are fucked.

best thing that will come out of this I HOPE is bring all critical manufacturing back to this country. Like Medicines and products that can save our own citizens lives that we dont need to depend on a foreign country to get.

China won. They beat us over the head with our cowardice. Now we probably have to go limping back to the Obama TPP JV team. Get some secondary garbage from Brunei and Malaysia and then watch China win the economic championship. I s'pose we could go to war but hell, we can't even face a half assed pandemic without shitting the bed and flushing 10 trillion down the toilet.

"Sometimes the truth is like mythical kryptonite. It radiates power and yet promises great destruction. And so reality is to be left alone, encased in lead, and kept at bay.

Take the Chinese genesis of the COVID-19 epidemic. We started in February with the usual Chinese deceptions about their role in the birth, transmission, and worldwide spread of the virus.

No one, apparently except Mike Bloomberg and Bill Gates, was surprised by the accustomed politically correct prevarications of the Chinese-purchased World Health Organization, whose transparent lies were passed off as truth—and led to tens of thousands of deaths.

On cue, our own obsequious media accepted Chinese and globalist myths—their shared antipathy for President Trump meant whatever he is for or says, they are against and deny.

But by late March the bits and pieces of the truth had emerged. All that gobbledygook talk of a Chinese wet market, of patient-zero bats, snakes, pangolins and such, were likely ruses to deflect attention from a conveniently nearby level-4 Chinese virology lab.

We are beginning to learn that Chinese scientists were conducting research on—surprise, surprise—coronaviruses in general, and in particular, methods to enhance their lethality, all for the ostensibly exalted humanitarian aim of discovering cures and vaccinations, although how that was to be so was never quite disclosed.

China’s patient zero almost weekly was backdated by communist party officials from late January to mid-November. When the lying is exhausted, we may well learn the virus was known to the Chinese even earlier.

In addition, we learned that China variously threatened to cut off medical supplies in transit to the United States. It stopped all flights in and out of Wuhan on January 23, but called America racist for waiting a week until January 31 to issue a travel ban on China—including, but not limited to, ending direct flights to the United States from Wuhan. Consider the Chinese communist logic: running-dog American capitalists mimicked Beijing in forbidding Chinese from flying—but only after a week-long interlude of bourgeoise debate and puerile reflection.

Were the Chinese embarrassed that they had accused Washington of being racist for belatedly doing exactly what they had done earlier? Of course not. In their eyes, weak decadent Westerners welcome such help in aiding their own self-abnegation and debasement.

China went on to spin lies that the U.S. military deliberately had created the virus to harm the poor noble Chinese. They seemed intent on peddling to the Trump-hating leftist media the talking points that China as the victimized “other” served as a convenient object of racial hatred by the deplorables and clingers, who, of course, nurse their racism on “conspiracy theories” about viral labs.

China destroyed the original data concerning the discovery of the virus. Brave, gullible and naïve scientists who were willing early on to speak up about the existential danger of an epidemic ended up “disappeared” or were silenced. News censorship stopped critical early foreign knowledge of the Chinese epidemic. On various online metrics, China’s case numbers and fatalities from the virus calcified, as if the country with the most cases magically now had suffered among the least. If it was good to lie about the Wuhan virus’s birth, then all the better to lie about its adolescent spread and mature lethality.

China’s behavior follows years of patent and copyright theft, forced technological appropriation, dumping, currency manipulation, crackdowns on Hong Kong democracy, and sophisticated espionage within the United States. It now threatens sovereign nations in Asia and the Pacific, if they dare blame China for the pandemic. Its military embarks on more aggression in the South China Sea, as rumors swirl of its stealthy violations of nuclear proliferation agreements.

Americans began grumbling that China almost seemed to have made war against the United States, in a peremptory fashion that dwarfed Pearl Harbor. At least it seems so when tallying up the over 80,000 dead, the trillions in destroyed market equity and GDP, and, most importantly, the likely larger human toll from suicides, family and substance abuse, lapsed medical procedures and tests, and wrecked businesses and lives from the lockdown.

So that was an unbearable truth. But what to do?

Cancel U.S. debt held by China? That is likely a terrible idea that would undermine the world’s entire financial system.

Cut off all relations? Embargos, sanctions, social distancing on a transnational scale? Expel all Chinese students? Bring home every American business in China? Seems unlikely.

The truth is that Americans know that to restore deterrence they must do something. But that “something” is equally difficult in the case of a 1.4-billion-person nuclear nation, which has systematically leveraged and compromised many of America’s own corporate, entertainment, media, and academic elite.

The result is that everyone from Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates to the CNN/MSNBC crowd know the truth that China despises the United States, feels that America is a spent and increasingly toxic society, and is ever more emboldened to humiliate its rival. Yet Beijing wagers that we will not do much, even if we could. It sees that weakness as laxity to be exploited, not at all magnanimity to be appreciated, much less reciprocated. So, for a while longer we know the truth, but apparently it is unbearable and preferably should not be known and just go away. And it probably will."

You essentially parrot Hansen's myopic position on everything. If we ever need to know where you stand. We just need to find what VDH opined about the subject.

So let's stop pretending you're anything but a Trumpist shill.

The Chinese Army could be marching on Chicago, and some posters would be worried about Trump and if the reporter telling us about it was racist.

I wasn't "parroting". I quoted an article with attribution. I don't think you know the slightest thing about Hanson. It's just easy for you to dismiss him as a"Trumpet" because he understands the dynamics behind Trump's election better than you do.

Is there anything in that article you would like to specifically disagree with? Or should we just call each other names?

He picks and chooses his "facts" to help his narrative.

He places zero accountability on Trump. Trump is merely a victim.

He places heavier blame on the WHO/Chinese Puppet than he should.

I don't think the Wuhan Lab was creating a super virus to unleash, which Davis clearly implies. He talks like the Lab was some sort of secret. They've clearly been studying viruses for years. That 60minutes piece last week was really informative. He goes nowhere near placing any responsibility on the US for pulling our scientists out. There's no mention of gutting our global pandemic response capabilities.

He doesn't go anywhere near the Trump administration authorizing PPE being sent to China...which served to deplete our emergency reserves. Which was soon thereafter blamed on Obama leaving the cupboard bare.

Davis spends a significant amount of that piece tearing apart China and accusing "leftists" types as being dupes. He's writing to a specific audience...no question every point he tries to make is heavily biased.

He leaves out completely that American business is heavily vested and invested in China.

He leaves out Trump and Ivanka and their heavy business relationships with China.

I continued reading into what must have been a separate piece which is essentially an anti Biden rant...which I'll leave alone. The rabbit hole in VDH land is deep.

Why did the author use the snarky phrase "surprise, surprise" other than to manipulate the reader into thinking there is something suspicious about scientists performing research on coronaviruses?

SILVER SPRING, Md. — On. Jan. 10, the day Chinese scientists published the coronavirus’s genetic sequence, Kayvon Modjarrad received a late-night call from his colleague Dr. Gordon Joyce, chief of the Emerging Infectious Diseases branch’s structural biology section at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Joyce and Modjarrad, the director of the Emerging Infectious Diseases branch, had been working on coronaviruses together since 2012, when they were both research fellows at the National Institutes of Health’s Vaccine Research Center.

Joyce and Modjarrad, the director of the Emerging Infectious Diseases branch, had been working on coronaviruses together since 2012, when they were both research fellows at the National Institutes of Health’s Vaccine Research Center.

Do you think it's a good idea to enhance the lethality of viruses in "research"? Could such a thing be nefarious?

I'm going to take a wild, wild guess that if Donald Trump had ordered the enhancement of lethal viruses in a U.S. lab you'd be a lot more suspicious than you are of the Chinese communist government.

You essentially parrot Hansen's myopic position on everything. If we ever need to know where you stand. We just need to find what VDH opined about the subject.

So let's stop pretending you're anything but a Trumpist shill.

Why did the author use the snarky phrase "surprise, surprise" other than to manipulate the reader into thinking there is something suspicious about scientists performing research on coronaviruses?

Please. That was extremely subtle in comparison to almost EVERY article put out by the mainstream these days. I won't even post a link - just start on Yahoo homepage and click from there. Nobody reports the facts anymore, Its all done with some element of persuasion and viewer direction.

All of this just propaganda. All of it. It's a joke how much
misinformation is spewed around. Should be embarrassing to MANY on here but it isn't. To illustrate how silly MANY of you look it was Trump that ran around discrediting China only a few months ago. That's right Trump. You know him the guy that you wouldn't address even if you has bomb strapped to you.

He is the person that through his own intelligence experts under the bus in order to kiss Xi's ass. He is the guy that ignored the warnings of expert after expert just so that he could ingratiate himself to a repressive dictatorship. He is the one that proclaimed that he "trusted" the Chinese. Wasn't the "left"
Is the Chinese an asshole Govt that kills and assassinate dissidents, opponents and individuals who seek to practice religion? Yes they are. I didn't Corona to tell me that Howvever for the past 20-25 years they have been our asshole. As a nation we had no problem accepting their money whenever we needed a "bailout" or stimulus package all while holding our collective noses ignoring all of the fucking atrocities that they commit against their own people.

And bite me with all of this newfound humanitarian concern. I doubt that anyone (you know the America Firsters) running around here gives a shit about what China is doing to the Muslims over there.
This entire little exercise has been about once again absolving the running shitfest that is the Executive Branch from culpability YET AGAIN.
No one should have needed this virus to illustrate for them that the Chinese were not to be trusted. What Tiennamen Square wasn't enough? All

We let programs like that fall by the wayside and instead we “invested” taxpayer money in flowerpots, free college for illegals, free healthcare for illegals, taking in hundred of thousands of refugees who are on the public rolls, we force our children to learn LGBTQ studies instead. So now we are in a very real and deadly crisis. We are seeing how our representatives are leading us. A lot of them are failing badly, grabbing more and more power. Curtailing more and more of our freedoms as given to us in the Constitution and Bill of Rights Is it not surprising that the areas hardest hit are the ones that are the most liberal in outlook and who are “sanctuary “areas and who until this crisis broke thumbed their noses to the Federal government? They talk of putting politics aside yet the bills in Congress that where introduced by democrats where riddled with pork yet they passed quickly and with no undue delay by the other side. Now we have a bill from the republicians stuck because the democrats are monkeying around ,wanting to add this and that for their own little fiefdoms. I won’t even talk about the ones who apparently made money off of inside knowledge. If this does not show that the majority of them need to be voted out of office then the American people deserve what we have coming to us.

So New York and soon Chicago will have built hospitals in less than a week. Is the media going to be in awe of it the way they were they did for the PRC? Despicable that our media broadcasts their propaganda so willingly. A regime not unlike other villains of history, its going to be the defining mark of the last tens years. Their complicity in the rise of communist China and their increasingly anti-humanity stance.

Well, it is official. The pandemic is over if you believe the truthfulness and wonderfulness of China. So, all you fellows and lady that appreciate fine dining, get on your planes and head for China in order to order the delicacies provided in Wuhan's finest markets. You can feast later on bats, snakes, rats, cats, dogs, lizards, very large spiders, and other species not seen in civilized countries EVER. All presented to you in open air, fly infested, feces laden, 3rd world market motif] This is the standard in which many in the liberal realm can't stop themselves from praising.
