Not to mention Lightfoot said Lunchrooms and breakrooms are GONE when people return to work, which is illegal according to IL state law.

Let me explain this to you slowly. I quoted a JORR post and responded to it. You are now trying to act like I'm making a different argument. Now, call me obtuse for not understanding what your changing of my thought was and we can move on.

I bet you wouldn't say that if the loudest voices of religion actually followed the teachings of Jesus instead of Grover Norquist.

Let me explain to you for about the fifth time over the past 24 hours. If you think the biggest issue with lockdowns is that people can't get a haircut or dine in at a restaurant, and judging from your post below that seems to be how you feel, then you absolutely are obtuse and do not understand that keeping things closed and taking away peoples' rights is MANY times worse than what the outcome of this virus will be.

Get on your local Facebook page and ask if anyone can cut your hair and I guarantee you'll get a bunch of private messages offering to do it, as long as you're willing to get roasted by people posting that you're a killer.

Why are you switching to a completely different thought you seemingly originally ignored?

I'm fine with responding to a response to that quote, though yours doesn't really have anything to respond to since it's basically "You are wrong but I won't explain why" but it has nothing to do with my response about JORR saying you'll be arrested for inviting people to your home and that means that rights were stripped.

Jorr said the mayor has threatened jail if he invites people into his home. I provided a quote where the mayor said just that.

Keep Bricking.

Common tentposts of most religions are sanctity of all life and reward in the hereafter.

Yes, black and grey markets are considered part and parcel of unfree societies. They were rampant in Nazi Germany, USSR, Apartheid South Africa, Imperial Japan, Federalist Russia. Truth is people find a way to do things anyways and government cant actually throw people in jail for getting a haircut or they'll have a mutiny on their hands.

But the fact that such things are forced to underground because we need to soothe the tyrannical impulses of powermad politicians and Karen's is very alarming, and it forebodes a climate where less innocuous assemblies of people are well and truly banned.

This tactic of minimizing the right to congregate being stripped as "not being able to get a haircut" is an infuriating bad faith tactic of leftists who again, see China not as an adversary but as a model.
What do you mean that the right to congregate has been stripped?

Lori Lightfoot has threatened me with jail if I invite anyone over to my house, let alone fifty people.
She can say what she wants. There is no chance any conviction for that will stand up to the courts. When I think of rights being stripped I don't think of mayors saying things they can't really enforce.

That's great! But until such time as I can have my lawyer slug it out in courts that are running on a skeleton level, I may have to deal with some time sitting at 26th and Cal in a cell that has been vacated by a rapist who was released because Kim Foxx and Tom Dart were concerned about him catching COVID.

I didn't see the quote of yours, but I will also point out that my whole point was that she can say what she wants but it's also not going to stand up in court. So, you posting the quote of her saying that wouldn't matter since I know she said it. You then posted statistics about a thing that was not relevant to the discussion?

Civil disobedience can be hard some time. I'm glad that past defenders of liberty weren't worried about a night in jail.

You. You're not a Chicagoan unless that's recently changed. You're just effectively stirring shit.

If there's no risk, it's not civil disobedience.

Thoreau notwithstanding.

And yet life on earth would seem to be relatively meaningless compared to the promise of an eternal heaven. Maybe all of this "abundance of caution" is just another indication of the decline of religious belief.

What did I argue didn't exist? The stay at home order does exist, and the mayor did say what you said. My point was that it would never stand up in court, and she can say whatever she wants. Of course there is a 1 in a million chance that you are the guy in Chicago that gets arrested because you invited a couple people over to your house and get hauled off to Cook County jail but you won't get convicted, and I would guess you would get a nice payout from the city for violating your civil rights when this is all said and done.

This thought had occurred to me. People are so convinced now that this life is all that there is, so they are clinging to it past the point of reason and sanity.
