I'm perpetually pessimistic on the Bears, but 3-13 is just dumb. If that is what it takes to get rid of Ted Phillips, however, I'm all for it. Would probably also put Virginia in the grave.

3-13 according to this write-up. A Trestman like death spiral:

Chicago Bears (3-13): The schedule is brutal, and the offensive weaponry supporting the unsettled quarterback position isn't a whole lot better. Barring another transcendent effort like the defense produced in 2018, more likely this franchise ends up cleaning house than returning to postseason.

Then you use google and find about 1000 other projections for us that are completely different. Everyone has projections, not sure why this one is special.

I'm interested in the national perception to see I am am overly optimistic. I am very overly optimistic if this is what national experts think. The Bears had a ton of bad luck last year. Not saying it won't happen again, but I think they are not going to be significantly worse than last year's 8-8.

The national perception "on average" appears to have us as a .500 team again this year.

I think they'll be closer to three wins than eight wins.

Not possible. They had almost no offense last year, injuries, and issues on special teams and still managed to win eight games. There is a ton of talent on defense and enough guys on offense to get things done on occasion. Not to mention they play the Lions twice. All of that will allow them to eek out at least six victories.

And? Now they are older and more injury prone. The offense, aside from Foles, is absolutely worse. The defense isn't that great either, Mack is in an obvious state of decline from 2018 and I dont know how much longer we can expect Fuller to be as good as he has.

I have not once seen you say anything positive about the Bears.

Should go back to last year, I was on the Kool Aid big time. I thought Ryan Pace was the guy long-term until he blew it this off-season.

I don't see T.P. going anywhere, he's there until Mccaskeys are gone.

I knew he was a moron when he traded up one spot for Mitch.

Here's something I find kind of interesting. As I've been riding around I've been seeing an inordinate amount of Bears clothing for this time of the year. Usually that stuff doesn't come out in full force until late in the summer. But I'm seeing way more Bears stuff than Cubs/Sox stuff. It's like people have accepted that there ain't gonna be baseball and are just waiting for the Bears to start.

I may be subconsciously doing that as well.
