Maybe. I think it would have hurt the mystique if they had failed to win it again. My last memory of Jordan will always be him hitting that shot in 1998 and that team winning a championship. It would have been crushing for me to see them lose the next year or year after that.

Yeah I wasn't as bothered by them breaking it up at the time because they seemed to be done. Jordan really had to put them on his back to get the 6th one. Rodman was old. The lockout that next season should have helped tremendously though. They would have had time to rest and it didn't take all that much to get there the following season.

Knicks got to the Finals as an 8 seed. Bulls definitely could have beat them.

Like the rush to go to Kenwood no later than 6:45 on game nights and seeing how many people who were just as desperate to get back to be in front of the tv.

The police could've written a million speeding tickets just on Stony.

The night they beat the Lakers for the First title was actually the same night as my High School Prom

I've been trying really hard to slow down with that, but between that and Bird telling Jordan "You patriot. Fuck you" after game 7 with Indiana, it seemed appropriate.

And funny.

That Bird moment was great.

And isn't amazing we can hear him calling MJ that on ESPN but the word cannot be used here on this board.

That was the first time I went out to watch a bulls playoff game at a bar/restaurant.

The former Hyde Park Hilton.

That Spurs team doesn't beat Jordan or the Knicks with a healthy Ewing. That was a cheap title.

They did him no favors. Feels like Jordan's is still being petty by downplaying his importance and may him seem like a soft diva.

Is there pettiness with Pippen from Jordan? Scottie is kind of a vagina and that's not Jordan's fault even if Jordan is a dick which I don't think he is.

I think there has always been. I also believe that Scottie has always been a little bit of a diva. What Scottie did to help the Bulls beat the Pacers is completely glossed over. It's embarrassing

Yep! If you didn't know better you would think Kerr and others were just as important as Scottie.

Yeah our prom in that particular year was the week before graduation. CPS gets out in mid june every year.

Our Prom was on whatever Friday Night the game was played and our graduation practice started the following Monday.

On Wednesday, ESPN is replaying Game 6 in high definition with some bonus footage from the film crew.

I'm reading r/nba's thread just for fun. Best comment so far is that someone didn't know Jordan was an explosive, athletic player, thought he was "more methodical."

Truth be told I watched the game. I blew off prom. Never wanted to go. Thought I was too cool for it. I watched the game at the crib and thought I'd catch whatever afterparty was going on that night.

It's why I always will remember Paxson hitting the jump shots. Once the night of prom rolled around I was mad because I didn't attend it. It finally hit me that night. Saving grace was that I got a chance to watch the Bulls clinch their first title in real time instead

Wasn't really much of a consolation prize but it was a rather memorable night for me in a rather strange way.

Also that 93 series with the Knicks. Pippen won that series. 23, 7, and 4 average and shot 51%.
The city was pretty tough on Pippen. I had countless arguments about his worth. He was a human playing alongside a superhuman. It was a thankless position to be in. But he really was the glue for the Jordanaires and the best defensive perimeter player I have ever seen. When Johnny Bach let loose the dobermans, he was the lead dog. It really was a sight to behold. And the season after Michael left? Just a beautifully fine tuned basketball player. On both ends. Then the 1.8 ruined it. I believe that karma caused that cheap ass whistle to blow in game 5.

I am a little disappointed they did not give Bach any run in the series. Tex Winter and the the triangle was great and all, but the backbone of their team was Bach and his defense

I was never the biggest Pippen fan. It could not have been easy being in Jordan's shadow all of those years though. He had to suppress whatever ego he may have had to allow Jordan to shine and he did that perfectly.

i was teary eyed at the end.

I kept looking at the TV at MJ. I wish I could hug the guy. Love the guy so much. amazing right? Someone I don't even know personally but he provided one of the best experiences in my life. I'm sure i'm not the only one.

Love this guy MJ. Makes me so proud of where I came from.

btw - Obama had a great minute there. If it wasn't for MJ, Obama would have never been elected president. MJ changed the culture for the better during his time.

Like I said, Love this guy MJ. I thank god I was able to live during his time.

I can remember that like it was yesterday. I also remember the sports talk like it was yesterday.

Seeing it live, MJ just was like 'another day at the office'. He didnt celebrate with nothing crazy. I remember one of the score hosts pointing that out that other players after that game winning shot may have jumped up and down and lost it. But MJ was it's just game 1. This is business. The series isn't over after 1 win.

Love this guy MJ.
