Did the Jerry’s consider an extension a renegotiation? If pippen was owed 3 million for 2 years and market value for him is 10 million. Why didn’t they offer a 4 year 26 million dollar deal? Or even shave a few mil off of that because they are the Jerry’s.

The bulls still capitalize on the cost savings of the terrible deal and get to keep pippen locked up. You don’t actually have to let him become a free agent before working a new deal.

At that time it would have been a helluva move. Kemp at that time was a beast.

People remember him more for the kids and the drugs but at that time all of that wasn't effecting him much. I just found it interesting that Jordan didn't try a "trade Scottie and I am retiring move". He seemed open to making the trade.

I had his shoes. I remember him for his dunks, scoring and highlight blocks. Don't think he was a great compliment for Jordan. They would have needed to do some more rebuilding. After the lockout the Rain Man's career dried up because he couldn't stop eating.

Kemp would have fit in if no scottie. it would take them time to gel but a short season not sure that would have been enough time.

but you got to remember, if MJ, Phil came back one more time and wanted someone to replace scottie, there would be tons of players wanting a chance to play with MJ for a title.

And Steve Kerr would have stayed that year. He went to SA instead and got another ring but SA w/o Kerr that year not sure if they get into the Finals. Maybe Portland or Lakers.

I think the Kemp for Pippen trade almost happened in 94 and I think again in 97. Jordan said that if the 94 trade goes through he probably would not have come back.
