Was there any talk of Phil going somewhere else and Michel following? I am sure you could of swung a trade for Pippen and filled in the role players around him.

Did the Jerry’s consider an extension a renegotiation? If pippen was owed 3 million for 2 years and market value for him is 10 million. Why didn’t they offer a 4 year 26 million dollar deal? Or even shave a few mil off of that because they are the Jerry’s.

The bulls still capitalize on the cost savings of the terrible deal and get to keep pippen locked up. You don’t actually have to let him become a free agent before working a new deal.

They couldn't renegotiate his contract per the 1995 CBA deal the players signed.

It's interesting that Jordan didn't seem all that opposed to playing with Shawn Kemp when the Kemp for Pippen rumors were out there. I'd have thought with all of the success he'd have fought more for Pippen to stay.

Jordan is a terrible judge of talent and team building.

At that time it would have been a helluva move. Kemp at that time was a beast.

People remember him more for the kids and the drugs but at that time all of that wasn't effecting him much. I just found it interesting that Jordan didn't try a "trade Scottie and I am retiring move". He seemed open to making the trade.

I had his shoes. I remember him for his dunks, scoring and highlight blocks. Don't think he was a great compliment for Jordan. They would have needed to do some more rebuilding. After the lockout the Rain Man's career dried up because he couldn't stop eating.

They wanted him for the 97-98 season though. He was Seattle's best player when he was on top of his game.

Don't know about the Jordan fit either but I just found it odd that he was open to trading for him.

Its all just speculation. But I do not think that Kemp was the guy that they wanted really. First of all, Kemp was lazy and I think that Jordan would have hated that. I think that if there was a re-build, that someone like McGrady would have been the guy to trade for. I also think that Jordan would have absolutely wanted Rodman on that team because I think after all the bullshit is thrown out there about Rodman, it was Jordan that controlled the Worm because Rodman greatly respected Jordan. For all his warts, Rodman, I think, was more valuable than Pippen in the last couple of years of the Bulls reign. When on the court, no one was more focused on his job than was Rodman.

I just finished the last two episodes tonight. I forgot how injured Pippen was towards the end. I think Krause was correct. Pippen, Longley, Rodman, and Harper were all washed up.

Im going to binge watch all 10 again.

I seemed to really like Tony Kukoc after watching this. I wasnt a big fan of his when he played but now it's like I really enjoyed watching him back during those Bulls years.

It was a stupid hill to die on when this seems to have been a good option.

But I don't know where the cba came down here

Yeah, I don't even think contracts could be reworked under that CBA.

Wasn't the Kemp/Pippen trade rumor occurring at the '94 draft?

The Pippen for McGrady pick was the rumor prior to the '97 draft.

Too bad they didnt have a little bit about Johnny Red Kerr in the doc.

His BULLS WIN calls were a big thing especially nationally.

Heard a few weeks ago on the radio that Scottie for Kemp was a go of Krause got the 12th pick and his guy there( Eddie Jones) or Jalen Rose.

Seems like a good trade for Chicago either way.. Who do you think was a better player.. Rose or Jones?

Definitely Eddie Jones. Rose was a loser.

It still bothers me that obviously something happened between them and Johnny Bach for them to almost completely omit him from the series.

Eddie Jones. You match him with Jordan and you have something more than Harper, but a bit less than Pippen.

Jalen Rose's no defense playin' ass wouldn't have lasted a year on MJ's Bulls.

1995- Pat Riley is hired to be coach and president of the Heat.
1995- Flip Saunders becomes both coach and GM of the Timberwolves.
1996- Greg Popovich establishes himself as coach/VP/GM of Spurs.
1996- Mike Dunleavy Sr. had already been coach/VP in Milwaukee the last few seasons.

Summer of 1997:

- Rick Pitino becomes coach and president of the Celtics.
- Don Nelson named coach and GM of Mavericks.
- Larry Brown hired to be coach and director of basketball operations by the Sixers.

No question Phil Jackson wanted more power. He was jealous.

Watched the final two episodes last night. Great series. I especially liked the behind the scenes stuff- on the bus, at practice, with the security, locker room, etc. Gave an insight to the team dynamic that really nobody outside of the those involved had any idea of.

Pearl Jam to end it was an awesome touch as well!

I don't remember Jones playing D.. Just knocking down shots..kinda like Rose..probably a slightly better 3 point game than Rose though.

My memory of Jones is kinda hazy, but I believe that he was a competent defender. Jalen Rose was justified a guy who wanted to score and was a team loser.

Eddie Jones was an elite defender and competent scorer. I believe his career high was 20 or 21 ppg when he got traded away from LA to make room for Kobe. Jalen was the better scorer and maybe the better playmaker but that's it. Jones is the better player.

Jalen could play multiple positions. He had a post-up game. Nice post-up fade too.

That's great and I agree, but the problem was Jalen gave up as much as he scored. Give me Eddie Jones all day.

I think what was lost during the 93-94 season was how much of a fucking asswipe Pippen was prior to May 13th of 1994.

Kobe, one of the best scorers in the history of the NBA, put up 81 points on a 27-55 Toronto Raptors squad. That Raptors starting lineup included Morris Peterson and Matt Bonner.
