I'm not a fan of the ambience, in fact I hate it, but in terms of pure flavor, I think Morton's has the best steak.

Gibson's the best steak I've ever had....but I can't say I've been to all the "big" time places. I always thought the name "Ruth's Chris" was stupid, so it was a never a priority.

Not a fan of Ruth's Chris for steak...no char and sitting in a pool of butter. They have other decent entrees, but their steaks can't compare to Joe's, Mastros, or a dozen other Chicago steak joints.

Yeah, it's the only way I do steak now. I believe many steak places also do it that way too...they have vats with rare, med rare, medium, etc steaks ready to go and just throw them under the broiler to finish.

It was around 2011, i remodeled a bathroom out there for a lady..she was the one who put me on to the place.

Sous-vide is great but as I mentioned in another thread, smoking a thick strip steak is a great change of pace option. It gives similarly perfect doneness with a delicious light smoky flavor.
