Seeing Frank's post triggered the other place I remembered wrong for some reason. Mr. Bennys.

Nicest beer garden I've ever seen, they had to sink a million into that remodel.

I'm not a fan of the ambience, in fact I hate it, but in terms of pure flavor, I think Morton's has the best steak.

"Just Add Bread" seems like an odd way to state that.

I wonder how much of that 36 oz is meat and how much is gravy.

Gibson's the best steak I've ever had....but I can't say I've been to all the "big" time places. I always thought the name "Ruth's Chris" was stupid, so it was a never a priority.

Hate Gibson's. But they dry age their stakes and I am not a fan of dry aging.

When I lived way south, the wife had us go there once. Once.

It's been closed for how many years now?

Not a fan of Ruth's Chris for steak...no char and sitting in a pool of butter. They have other decent entrees, but their steaks can't compare to Joe's, Mastros, or a dozen other Chicago steak joints.

Getting a sous-vide has completely ruined any desire I had to go to expensive steak houses. It's idiot proof.

Yeah, it's the only way I do steak now. I believe many steak places also do it that way too...they have vats with rare, med rare, medium, etc steaks ready to go and just throw them under the broiler to finish.

The best steak I’ve had in the last year was at Maple and Ash. The flavor was unreal.

Sous-vide is great but as I mentioned in another thread, smoking a thick strip steak is a great change of pace option. It gives similarly perfect doneness with a delicious light smoky flavor.
