Horace should be building a shrine to MJ. If it wasn't for MJ nobody would know who the fuck horace grant was. he'd be some guy who super basketball fans would have known played in the 90s in the NBA.

If he really despises MJ, then give MJ all that money MJ made for you Horace!

But Horace was always a nice guy. I got to give him that. I always felt he really enjoyed his time in the league but that rant by him was too much. Good publicity though. I guess people remember him now who weren't bulls fans.

If Horace didn't have Michael he would be what his twin ended up being.

P.S. Kobe put up 45 against Battier that same year and Battier fouled out

Kobe put up 50 against Iguodala shooting 66% a few weeks prior to his 81 performance.

Look, we started this discussion about Jones vs Rose and I told y'all that Jones was the more complete players. Regular and advanced stats show that.

No question Jones is the better player and the better building block, to me.

I'm actually going to be more charitable than others about rose here. When he was Indiana he was an x factor. He had a skill set no one else on that team had. Because the team filled with veteran players who mostly played defense Rose's considerable deficiencies were covered up. Put Jones on that team over Rose and they beat the bulls in 98

A lot of millennials know Horace Grant in spite of Jordan because he was Jordan's replacement in NBA Jam and really good.

The video is telling. Lazy people use the lazy narrative of Kobe's 81 game when talking about Jalen's defense.

Jalen had a good reputation on defense as a Pacer. He held his own. He was capable.

Yeah .. He also played like 40 minutes a game in Indiana.

Ron Harper played like 18 minutes a game and averaged 1\3 of what Rose put up. Awful comp by TP and Nas.

How did no one take a shot at that permed out cheeseball "security guard" of Michael's over the years?

My guess is every one of those guys was a former cop who learned Burge tactics. That nice old man with cancer undoubtedly saw a few perps trip and fall down the stairs

Michael really wasn't funny. All of his cuts and comebacks had no real humor attached to them. I'm surprised someone with a quick wit didn't slice and dice him because that was an obvious weak spot.

I assume Juanita wanted no part of this thing. 10 episodes covering MJ entire career and we saw her maybe one time, at the retirement. You wouldn't even know he was married if the kids didn't mention it. The marriage was a Nike creation from the beginning and she already got her money. She has always been surprisingly quiet when you compare her to all the Housewives and Cavallaris out there.

But supposedly that was one of Jordans deal breakers. He did not want family to have a role in this.

Supposedly Michael only had two requests in order to do this. The first was that he got to watch the video of what everyone else said and could respond. The second was that his kids and wife were off limits. Obviously, the kids got to talk a little bit in it but I'm sure that was managed heavily.

Very little tho. I think it was Mac and Parkins read a deal at some point saying Jordan told the director he did not want family to be a story line.

Comes with the territory. She hit a home run when she graduated from Reggie Theus to Jordan.

Harper in his prime was a better player than Rose. Harper played excellent defense while Rose was a soft player.

Why can Bruce Bowen or Shane Battier hound Kobe into 9-31 shooting nights for 37 points while 6-8 Jalen Rose gets 81 dropped on his head? Because he sucks and never tried hard on defense.

My bias here in case it isn't obvious is defense. If you don't try hard on D then I don't give a shit about you. Rose was in that category for me. No value add if you can score 21 in a breeze but your guy hits you up for 25 on 70% shooting.

Stop that nonsense. 81 all on Jalen? We say that because Jalen is on ESPN. Lazy narrative. Nobody remembers the other players on the 27-55 Toronto Raptors. Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9NILK4OXpo

P.S. Kobe put up 45 against Battier that same year and Battier fouled out

Kobe put up 50 against Iguodala shooting 66% a few weeks prior to his 81 performance.

 Are you digging into 2006 regular season box scores? That's genuinely awesome.

The video is telling. Lazy people use the lazy narrative of Kobe's 81 game when talking about Jalen's defense.

Jalen had a good reputation on defense as a Pacer. He held his own. He was capable.

Okay so if you want to go there, here we go:

- it's lazy to omit Jalen's time in Denver, Toronto, Chicago, etc., and only focus on Indiana
- it's lazy to miss that Indiana's defense was anchored by elite interior defenders Derrick McKey, Dale and Antonio Davis, not to mention 7'4 Rik Smits, which made up for poor perimeter defense from Miller and Rose
- it's lazy and misleading to not refer to Rose's stats: in advanced metrics,if you look at the link you'll see that not only does Rose pale in comparison to Eddie Jones in advanced defense metrics, he's actually a lot closer to defensive wizard Eddie Curry than he is to a peer like Jones

Yeah .. He also played like 40 minutes a game in Indiana.

Ron Harper played like 18 minutes a game and averaged 1\3 of what Rose put up. Awful comp by TP and Nas.

Harper in his prime was a better player than Rose. Harper played excellent defense while Rose was a soft player.

I considered Harper, pre knee injury, to be on an arc to be one of the very best players in the league. I don't think people understand that ACL was a death sentence to a career back then.

I don't think he would've been best in the league level, but maybe one level down from that. He was an electric scorer on those Cavs and Clippers teams.

That being said, and even though im criticizing him in this thread, Rose was no Bulls-era Harper. If anything, he was the team's Kukoc.

Without the Knee injuries he would have been a multiple time All Star. He was one the few 2 guards that really made Jordan have to compete. He was a very good player.

I was always a fan of Ron Harper. Maybe because i felt sorry for him first because of his speeh impediment but what a great accomplishment for the man to beat that .

He was always know as 'the poor mans' MJ' in Cle. I think the doc even commented on that. Then when he came to the Bulls it was nice to see him and the team gel. Then he basically became Phil Jackson on the court when he went to the Lakers. Became the leader he was meant to be.

I don't get why he never got a coaching gig. Even say as a HS or NCAA coach.

Guy is a great basketball mind.

She may have not wanted any part of it.

But supposedly that was one of Jordans deal breakers. He did not want family to have a role in this.

Very little tho. I think it was Mac and Parkins read a deal at some point saying Jordan told the director he did not want family to be a story line.

I heard that too.

Yeah wouldn’t want Juanita to be weighing in on the womanizing

Comes with the territory. She hit a home run when she graduated from Reggie Theus to Jordan.

The front room of the old Cotton Club was dangerous for young athletes with money.
