Either Mandarin or Cantonese. I play Pai Gow Tiles (not to be confused with Pai Gow Poker). It is nearly 100% Cantonese players. Just once, I want to listen to and understand what they say all night, and then at the end say fuck you in Cantonese.

I've been trying to work on getting my French back, but if I could add a third, maybe I'd go big and say Latin. Russian, Greek, or Hebrew would be cool, but I don't think I can master another alphabet this late in the game. I can barely fumble my way through each of them now.

I had some classes in Latin but that knowledge is long gone. Even then it was much like my French in that reading or hearing was always rather easy but I never could figure out how to think in it to make conversation go smoothly. Well, conversation in French that is, Latin was mostly reading and writing.

I took a year of both Latin and Ancient Greek in college. I only took a year due to sanity issues, but Greek was fun. After a week, we were reading short passages from Aristotle. Would like to pick those up, but the UC Seminary no longer teaches them (except for the boot camp in the summer that costs 6 grand).

Passed Spanish and German reading in translation texts in grad school. Couldn't translate a sentence in either now. I'd like to learn Czech just for the women. Those Czech chicks are smokin'.

@TP: My parents wouldn't let me take Latin or German. "We have the Spanish books, so that's what you're taking!" However, as a faculty member, Rhodie came through with smokes for me a few times....

Six months in France and you'll get really good. Then six months after you leave you'll be back to dogshit.
