I'm actually going to be more charitable than others about rose here. When he was Indiana he was an x factor. He had a skill set no one else on that team had. Because the team filled with veteran players who mostly played defense Rose's considerable deficiencies were covered up. Put Jones on that team over Rose and they beat the bulls in 98

You can give a man a basketball reference sheet and show him stats for a day, or you can show a man how to watch basketball and let him make his own valid judgements on players for life. You’ve never stopped the box score scouting. This isn’t baseball. You can’t quantify every player by a list of all time VORP or BPM or PER ya fucking knucklehead.
