It would be good to put that out there. Rather than saying if you are black and you encounter the police it's a coin flip. It's a dramatic video, but this is a pretty rare occurrence. It is much worse if you have a bunch of Ogies running around as the unsanctioned security force.

People are reactionary and like things that align with their worldview. This is not news. As much as we like to style ourselves as Rational and Logical Thinkers™ we are not. You cannot expect a person who just watched a video of man getting suffocated in broad daylight to have a measured response to that video. If a person is not angered (or at the very least, disgusted) by the video they probably have some kind of chemical imbalance in their brain. That he was suffocated by a person whose job it is to "protect and serve" makes it that much worse. It does not surprise me that people would seek out and tend to believe something that helps explain why something so terrible happened.

Of course this is not an excuse for people purposely mischaracterizing this or similar situations.
