Probably not.

At least we can say the comparison between this and the Lansing protests is pretty much dead!

Yeah, no one died and the police didn't use military equipment and none lethal gas on the protesters in Michigan either. Another MAJOR difference is the protesters in Minnesota weren't bearing arms. There is something about a bunch of men with guns and that know how to use them that gets the police to be "reasonable". We saw that in Michigan and we saw that a few years back with the ranchers in Nevada. They made the government stand down.

Many of the the rioters in Minneapolis were armed with some type of weapon.

I think we should agree rioting isn't a justified response.

So how does the police teargassing people justify looting and burning? I dont get how that connection gets made.

Don't think that's why they were looting.

People are forgetting that this riot isn't just about the murder on Monday. This is about Philando Castile and how the cop walked. Righteous anger has been simmering for years here and it was time to boil over.

I just wish they'd throw their molotovs through a police station and government buildings instead of private businesses.

Gross hyperbole.

What Ogie's doing attracts law enforcement attention no doubt about it.

still no charges filed against the murderer...

You or I kill a man on video and we're in cuffs immediately. This fucking pig does it and he's walking free.

Once again, the anger in Minneapolis is righteous anger, they are just taking it out on the wrong places

That's the problem with the looting. It detracts from the real issue and gives people license to say pffft.

which is why I prefer it when a Micah Xavier Johnson steps forward.

Looting and rioting is directing that energy towards the wrong party.

A hero like Micah Xavier Johnson directs it to the responsible party.

Sure-fire way to make police more likely to have positive interactions is to ambush them .

Filing charges would encourage more looting and rioting next time (and there will be a next time) something like this happens.

the looting and rioting isnt the right thing to do, but actions have consequences. cops need to stop murdering people.
