Not really.

If you, I, and two other posters here did this and were caught on video murdering this man on May 26th, we would've spent that very night in prison with charges steeper than 3rd degree murder. We also probably get a higher bail set.

Indictments aren't enough for the people of Minneapolis. They have seen how useless they were in the murder of Philando Castile. They know the history and how most cops end up walking in these cases. The DA will throw the case because the DA needs he friends of this murderer to cooperate for every other case he has so he can't afford pissing them off.

After Philando Castile's killer walked, I'd say the people of Minneapolis had every right to riot, but they didn't. They sat back and hoped things would change. Well, nothing changed so now all of that pent up and justified anger is being released.

So people should riot when a case goes thru the criminal justice system and the outcome is one they dont like ?

when the outcome is the result of the system being rigged in that manner, absolutely.
Any outcome I don't like means the system is rigged!

Any system that doesn't benefit Trump is considered rigged by you Litigation Notes.

What happened to those? It's almost like they stopped overnight. Last weekend a couple hundred people getting together at Lake of the Ozarks were going to kill everyone in the country. Suddenly people are elbow to elbow in the streets and the virus is of no concern. I guess the lockdown is over whether anyone likes it or not.

Speaking of LOTO...

It was literally asking if that is not swift justice in this case.

4 days.

This isn't like other cases where it took months for those in power to act.

The cops were fired within 24 hours and the guy was arrested and charged in 4 days.

And if all of that is not swift enough justice, what would be?

Has there been any tantrums from Mayor Lightfoot or Governor Pritzker about the crowds last night?

American police aren't just pieces of shit to the people they supposedly "protect and serve." They're also giant pieces of shit at home

I don't know, but cracking down on people going to church or walking on the beach while giving tacit approval to people throwing bricks through store windows is probably not a recipe for reelection.

Quite the contrast, is it not?

Oh I think if there are crowds on the lakefront, there'll be some sermonizing.

As others have pointed out, it's likely that this cop and the rest of the officers will walk. This is what happens.

It's not entirely about how swiftly someone was charged. It's about people being tired of it happening.

I can think of about 20 recent cases where we had cringe worthy video or very questionable circumstances and in all but 4 cases they walked. One case involved a woman who wasn't poor in Minnesota, the McDonald case in Chicago and the Dallas case where she accidentally entered the wrong unit. The other case required the Feds to step in because of a hung jury.

The people in these communities just want to be treated the same way as the people in middle class and affluent communities.

So people were just looking for an excuse to go crazy, and George Floyd gave them that reason.

That's honest at least.

Thanks for that.

I had to turn him off just now. If we were being invaded by space aliens he'd be on TV saying he thinks their leader likes him.

Bingo. Nothing wrong with protesting, but rioting is another story.

He's using the same playbook that was effective when there wasn't multiple crisis and when he wasn't president. It's the Matt Nagy approach to governing.

If this is truly the case there will be rioting until the end of time. There is no way you can stop people from making bad decisions or expect them to make the correct choice every time .It also has to stop being perpetuated that this is common behavior and that it happens every single time multiple times per day and only to black people because thats just a flat out untruth. So then it has to go back about being satisfied that the police are charged with the crime, terminated, and the case to go through the court system and whatever the result ends up being, it is.
