Thanks for that.

Bingo. Nothing wrong with protesting, but rioting is another story.

Unless protesting involves taking a knee. Then it’s an affront to America.

Well, a lot of people place tremendous value on hearing the anthem before games. It's something many people value. Kap was fully aware of this. He even began kneeling out of respect (rather than sitting down).

This should have been a win-win for American culture.

A win-win? What kind of message is: we don't have to change you have to change. We are separate from the rest of you. The anthem is meant to bring people together. To reject the brotherhood of American citizenship and tell an outright lie like the police are targeting black men for death does far more damage than good. That lie is why cities around the country are burning.

Win-win. Means we have room for lots of people to express their opinions.

The anthem brings people together. I mentioned that people value the anthem. Some value it for the ability to bring us together, some to remind us of the political and cultural values that allow for dissent.

I've never seen anyone rage post as much as you. It's too bad, because you have things to say.

It's a shame Chicago's mayor is nowhere to be found.

Maybe it'll be later today since there's large crowds not social distancing on Lake Shore Drive.

What are the "enormous generalities" that make you so uncomfortable? Please be precise and hone your argument.

Start with the first thing he said: This was a lynching.

Um, no. It wasn't.

So that's your point? You disagree with West's use of the term "lynching"? Do you also disagree with the belief that this incident was racially charged? How should West have described this incident to suit you?

What made it racially charged other than the respective races on those involved?

Would it have been less bad had it been a white officer and a white victim?
I think the general feeling is that your scenario wouldn’t have ended the same way.

And if someone hadn’t recorded the murder he’d still be patrolling the streets. That’s the real problem. Even if a 1/2 dozen people witnessed it happen and complained to the police the official story would still be he died while resisting arrest and that would be the end of it.

I used to roll my eyes when people talked about those apps which would instantly upload an encounter with the cops (or any encounter, I guess), but now I'm kind of like . . . it might be a good idea to have one of those, despite privacy and context concerns.

Yeah it seems like nothing will happen unless something is recorded.

That is the feeling. It's not based in fact though. Cops kill white people in handcuffs too. Remember Tony Timpa? The media doesn't sell the story the same way. They can't.

Aren't blacks something like 3 times more likely to die in police custody than whites?

My bad.

So police treat blacks differently than whites, blacks are more likely to die in police custody than whites, but race wasn't a factor in this case? Is that your argument?

I'm not sure of the exact numbers. The data isn't compehensive. Some jurisdictions don't even report: https://journalistsresource.org/studies ... ed-states/

I would argue one is one too many. And there seems to be a disparity. But I think if you look at the numbers you'll see it isn't exactly the epidemic the coverage would suggest.

Truly un amazing that now white supremacist rioters is the new new narrative. Dese guys think we are stupid. Well, OK, their audience is stupid.

Can not let Antifa/Creamer/Soros be blamed.
Now why is Antifa a protected minority? Why?

Only Trump can save us. Of the two parties putting up a candidate for POTUS, only one party can put down Antifa and it ain't their paymasters, the Democrat Party.

Your life your choice.

Why are blacks more likely to die in police custody then?

There aren't really stats for this. When TM says more blacks die in police custody that's made up nonsense. The FBI doesn't tally it.
