The funny thing is, that "Trump supporter" narrative was writ large for a few moments yesterday when "white supremacists" were blamed for the riots and looting by CNN and MSNBC among others until such narrative became so obviously preposterous- almost instantly- that it was rendered untenable.

Yeah, I saw Jorr post that yesterday and I didn’t think the virus has much to do with the intensity of the protests. There has been economic pain, frustration from being sheltered and isolated, and then this horrible event. Maybe it added some fuel to a fire....I don’t know.

The trifecta of Georgia, Kentucky and Minneapolis killings entering the news in the same-ish cycle hasn’t helped. Add in the NYC Karen threatening the bird watcher. The first three got the pot boiling. Minneapolis sent the water over the edge.

I’d wager violent protests were going to happen anyways given the mood of the country regardless of COVID-19. Everyone has been on edge the past 4 years (excluding Ogie and denis is their #FastTrack bubbles)

1. For your contention to be true then cities such as Atlanta, L.A., and Houston would not have gone up the way that they have. Each has been open for weeks now.


2. Blacks haven't been the only ones rioting if you haven't noticed. Thus your notion that it was simply about "black men in custody" dying less is fallacious.

3. Many of the people rioting were young and less apt to be effected by rising unemployment caused simply by the shutdown. A great number of the youth were unemployed prior to the shutdown anyway.
