That is true. IF anyone thinks that the down the road effect of this is going to be good for race relations let alone prosperity in the minority communities they are nuts. There were a lot of back owned and other minority owned businesses ruined last week never to return. ANd where is the money going to come to rebuild throughout these areas? Think the feds are going to do it after the mayors and governors failed to do their job to protect these businesses? Not on your life.

This happens during elections but unfortunately much or all of the looting appears to be home-grown.

CPS food program put on hold due to "the evolving nature of activities in the city." Straight out of Orwell.

That what I figured. I watched a Long Beach fire crew trying to put a car fire out before police protection got there. So the fireman had his hose and was trying to douse the fire and a tall black looter ran onto the street and tried to yank the hose from him. They actually had to fight for that hose. A couple of minutes later the cops showed up and the looter got clean away.

I hate to say this but some really innocent people are going to die because of these gangs of criminals committing theft and arson all around the country. It is now officially ANARCHY from what I have seen. These leaderless cities have brought this shit on themselves with this liberal approach to law enforcement.

Are there message boards for racist assholes who claim to have PTSD and have zero thoughts on the actual subject of the board in Long Beach? Or did you get kicked off of all of those before you found a home here?

So do companies. My son's job got canceled tonight in LA due to the riots. Major job redoing freezer cabinets and refrigeration to them. ALL TO GIVE BETTER PRODUCTS to area people. And while I am very happy he doesn't have to go into that cess poll tonight, he doesn't get paid as a result and potentially that store may be looted tonight.

Can anyway anywhere tell me that what these "people" are doing is right and justified? ANY OF THEM?

This happens during elections but unfortunately much or all of the looting appears to be home-grown.

I watched some of the live looting on tv coverage yesterday. The looters were taking things like a case of beer and then walking down the street. Seemed hyper local. I doubt you drive from Arkansas to take a case of beer.

Unfortunately the vast majority of Americans are going to remember the protests as violent, and it will diminish the important message of police reforms and training.

It may have the unintended consequence of leading to more aggressive policing in other cities but I think in Minneapolis there will definitely be reform.

The Twin cities has a good shot at reform. They are generally progressive.

I was more referring to the average American who viewed that video and was appalled. It will be drowned out as time goes on with the overriding memory being of this violence. Lots of the violence is hitting home to folks I know. One person had their place of business shut down yesterday. There was a local road that had to be closed as a police vehicle was looted of weapons and set on fire. A local restaurant was burned. I picked a great time to head home yesterday.....

The training thing is a myth. One of three that have been blown out of the water in 2 weeks.

Myth #1: Big city white liberals are the black community's friends and advocates(see Central Park Karen)
When the rubber meets the road, they are as racist as the guy in the holler in ol' Kentuck. Just
like the drunk who spews what he really thinks, the segregated white liberal spews what they
really think when they are a-scared.

Myth #2: There 's only a few bad apples in police(Watch three guys do nothing as the bad apple kills)

Myth #3: No amount of training can overcome the fraternity or the culture. There's the thugs in blue, and
those that cover for them.

I feel we don't hear enough from Black big city cops and how they can affect this.

But there are far more Republicans that promote aggressive policing however. Make no mistake. This was created by aggressive policing practices. Historic use of aggressive policing practices.

Trump encouraged this by repeatedly endorsing such practices while running for President. He also is an advocate for the behavior of the Minneapolis police dept. Republicans also have repeatedly made it appear that crime is a huge problem which need to be corrected. This despite the fact that crime has been on the decline for years. Particularly homicide rates. That never gets reported.

I can totally buy a bunch of out of work and/or out of school misguided dumb youth breaking windows and looting stores more than I can buy a conspiracy theory which says a dark operation across several states was planned and executed only 18 hours after Floyd died.

I will agree with you but where the majority of the riots are happening are historically democratic strongholds. When was the last time the Republicans where in charge in Chicago? LA? New York. Come on man, We have to stop taking both the racial bait and the R vs D bait. It is a rich vs poor thing, period.
