I think that definitely has an effect, although probably more with the mares than the studs. Some of these fillies come off the track looking so masculine you'd think they have a cock between their legs. When I was buying a lot of yearlings I much preferred those that were out of the lightly raced sister to the champion rather than out of the champion herself who had a hard and long racing career.
