Cusack hates Better off Dead to this day because he wants to be a serious actor. Too bad, its one of the great comedies.

He was in way more great coming of age comedies than better off dead

I think he is a pretty decent serious actor. I don't know why he'd run from his comedic days. He's established in the industry. He should be more embarrassed by the rom-com period of his career

Hey I liked America's Sweethearts

The Sure Thing was pretty amazing (after the first five minutes).

His other coming of age comedies were good, but seemed like B movies compared to The Sure Thing.

He sort of screams suburbia, though.

I liked that movie where he was a hitman. I went in thinking there's no way. But he pulled it off.

His two best are high fidelity and eight men out.

He's even been pretty good in horror.

Grosse Point Blank and Say Anything are both very entertaining critiques of the 80s and 80s films.

I even liked her in that movie where she was kind of chunky at convent school and dated Robin. That was the first time I ever saw her. And incidentally, also the first time I ever saw Lord Baelish/Tommy Carcetti.

Haven't seen Grosse Point Blank yet but I know it has that cool slowed-down version of "Let My Love Open the Door" that's almost as good as the original.
