Nah. Americans come together ultimately. Upheaval happens and then we come together again. That will happen this time as well. I’ve already been seeing it with friends of mine who were on the fence or even anti BLM after Ferguson being decidedly pro BLM now. I know multiple hillbilly Army buddies who have changed their opinion on it. The tide is shifting. But, like I said, I expect the 2020’s to be a wild ride. I don’t think it gets better in the next year or two.

Yeah nobody really knows what this Black Lives Matter movement actually stands for because they have zero leadership and are prone to wild and ludicrous "demands" like this https://insidethekandidish.wordpress.co ... zSTo74dHd8 that catch fire on social media.

You also drastically overrate the average American's desire for harmony, not just among races (which will come back to its usually civil levels soon enough) but just in general. People are itching for a fight in America. You notice it so starkly after being away any period of time. Everywhere you go, every day. The eye rolls and the sighs and the groans are one thing, but the outward hostility is incredible. Not on the internet, in real life. I cant believe the way people treat each other. Its legitimately shocking.

People are pissed and tribalism is as bad it’s been in decades but this is cyclical, especially throughout American history. And we’re already starting to see the Overton window shift. Brees’s comments were mainstream 4 years ago and today nobody will publicly back him. Folks are recognizing the racial disparity in this country and the moderates are shifting their position. I don’t even care about the right side of history bullshit meme but the WFR types are going to be left behind.

Except all this is meaningless because the only people who really matter from a political point of view are whites in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Minnesota. And I'll tell you right now the Overton window shift hasn't made it there.

You really aren't going to get any sort of healing until a few things stop happening on both sides of the political spectrum. One of them being that anyone who dares to be a Republican is automatically branded racist, and that is a behaviour I dont see abating itself any time soon. That tactic, misguided to its core, only drives the Republicans to put forth more and more retarded candidates who know exactly how much they need to appeal to threatened white people to win. And the cycle goes on forever and ever, with people eventually losing the plot so much that they are cancelling Drew Brees because he said some corny shit about the flag and anthem.

It’s made it to Wisconsin Ohio and Michigan. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Trump still wins this year cuz who the fuck knows and Biden is worthless but it’s undeniable the tide is shifting. You’re willfully blind to deny it or just out of touch from hanging out in Africa or wherever

I'd vote democrat if they stopped with the tranny homo shit. Full stop. I'd get right back in the big tent but I cant abide that burrito shit. Its too fucking gay. I'll let EbonyPrincess69420blaze compel me to tithe 80% of my wages to some corrupt bail fund intended to spring burglars and armed robbers from the can, all they have to do is cancel the LGBT stuff. That shit is societal poison and quite literally makes me fucking ill to watch.

Biden’s your guy. Ask him to give an off the cuff LGBT statement and it will come out like a Chas post with a Nas kicker

FF, what's going to follow in the next six months is a Jussie-like case that reinvigorates everyone who had their little moment of clarity now. That's how this goes, in circles. Each side scores its points and you always think you're witnessing the death blow for the opponent.

I remember when Barack Obama killed conservatism forever. And then I remember when Donald Trump drove a stake into the heart of identity politics. Some looting and rioting on the backs of the most overhyped event in modern American history does not a sea change make. People are going to have forgotten all about this in a month.

Well yeah, get him to make an off the cuff statement on what he had for breakfast and it wont be much better. That cvnt's cooked, no other way to put it. The democrats at large need to renounce transgenderism before I even consider returning to the fold, I'm essentially a one-issue voter.

I’m not saying Republicans are going away and it would be tremendous if conservatives reclaimed the party but I don’t see them having any legitimacy to do so currently. This isn’t about a death blow from one side to the other. It’s about what I said and it is shifting. The “people on Twitter” night defend the looting but the white country moderates are changing their thoughts on BLM. I know. I’m friends with a lot of them and have been for the past decade and have seen the shift. It seems to be backed up by what I read and see nationally.

To simplify it, police reform is popular, riots and looting aren’t. Once this passes the conversation will shift.

Except nobody is going to agree on what reform. Which means the government is going to do what is easiest/cheapest so they can declare MISSION ACCOMPLISHED and go back to Jeff Epstein's private island.

Your idea of burning down and starting over with policing is ludicrous. The support for that course of action is in the single digits, and most people who share it with you have hilarious deluded fantasies of unarmed feminist action patrols. There will be more training seminars, they'll try and hire more black cops and, most importantly, the police are just gonna do less. Its looking fairly certain that once this is all over there will just be certain parts of American cities where 911 calls go unanswered and the police just show up to process crime scenes before heading back to district HQ.

Let's get real. The white people you're talking about just dont like seeing on the news. At the end of the day if the ghettobirds show up in their part of town they'll be frothing at the mouth begging for a broad crackdown.

Single digits?

You’re even more out of touch than I thought.

Support for abolishing the police is in the single digits or maybe low teens. It certainly does not have broad support.

It wasn't an attack of a liberal or praise of the president or Limbaugh so it was moved to the DC thread in the politics section.

If you point those out I'll move them too.

Half the General Discussion the past week. Could start there.

I'll say again, there has always been political talk on the board. The purpose of the Politics section is to segregate "Trump sucks/Trump is great". It's just tired bullshit. And that's what that thread was. He could have posted it in Politics. Instead he wanted to piss on the board.

They're not just a collection of endless new threads based on partisan viewpoints.

If you're somehow suggesting that anti-Trump stuff is being ghettoized and anti-Democrat stuff is allowed to stay, I'll tell you that isn't true. Nearly every post by Golden Jet and Regular Reader is overtly political and partisan as hell. They don't all get moved to Politics

That’s fair but then it’s just a Trump section without the JB and Lori and other threads moving too

The Mattis thread was a thread about Mattis, not Trump. Of course it was related to Mattis’s long overdue thoughts on Trump but that’s a specific thread subject. It’s bullshit to move it and toss it into another thread all the while the View Active Topics view is just littered with politics topics.

I think you can see why moving it and deleting the thread the way you did was noticed given that.

Shut the fuck up. It wasnt deleted. It was moved. And it wasnt even your thread.

Ive had couple threads deleted recently. Did I make a big stink about it? No.

Black Lives Matter is political incoherence at best, and a terrorist organization at worse. My favorite part about you is this claim to have a deep knowledge of history. What "history books" have you read that show the positive longterm consequences of a minority group in the country playing out a grievance against the majority for political gain? Where has this worked out?

Playing societal outsider and claiming that the entire rest of the country needs to change is an act that will not play forever. I challenge you to find a country that has gone further to attempt to provide agency and equity to a racial minority. It's been 60 years of legal protections, scholastic preferences, and indoctrination about past suffering. We literally ignore ever other inequity in our society yet hold this one on a pillar. Yet, BLM stands for going even further: eliminate the police, give "people of color" money, kneel before us and accept your white original sin. The center cannot hold if this is the policy.

The longterm scenarios for this are (and create to America for the 1st):

1. A South African like state with private armies for the top ten percent. This is the most likely.

2. Further ghettoization and reservation like rules for American blacks

3. A downturn in economic fortunes for the United States and scapegoating of American Blacks reverting back to Jim Crow era policies

4. Civil War

A color blind policy is your only real longterm chance for harmony, but that has been abandoned due to neglect and outright decadence. There is zero scientific evidence behind unconscious bias, and all the other white guilt policies being pushed. The book to read is from Dawn to Decadence by Jacque Barzen. There has never been a society that had perfect equality. Ripping out this one because we haven't figured out how is a terrible idea that will result in piles of bodies as the foundation of the new "utopia".

You are ignorant as shit. "Political incoherence". What does even mean? You make up idiotic phrases "childish premise" in the hope that someone may actually believe that you are intelligent.
Its obvious your sources are Twitter and Fox News shows.

You are the same idiot that once claimed that the Great Migration had nothing to do with lynching.

When have you provided something besides an uninformed opinion on anything here?

And now you think you are enlightening the world by proclaiming that there has never been "perfect equality" in any society. As if anyone with a functioning brain needs to read a book in order to know that.

Telling someone that there has never been "perfect equality" (Another one of those contrived phrases of yours) isn't exactly profound.
If you believe that is what people are requesting then you are an even bigger fool than first thought.

Yesterday: Inequality? What Inequality? It doesn't exist!

Today: Why are we listening to 12% of the population? There's inequality, but so what, there are equity issues everywhere. How dare they demand equal protection under the law and other constitutional rights! Why do they want to perfect the union?

What some intellectuals fail to understand is that reforms would benefit hundreds of millions of people who aren't black and are poor or a financial crisis away from losing everything. Some are so ignorant that they are willing to work to hurt themselves if it means that a chunk of a minority population continues to suffer.

This is complete ignorance that literally no one has said. You are just trying to start shit. What reform are you suggesting to the benefit of everyone? There is zero suggestion of a colorblind solution. It's white people need to change. And the police need to go. How beneficial for everyone!

There is no "colorblind" solution because you and many other people on both sides would prefer to focus on "blacks". In this very thread and others I've pointed out that it's more of a class issue. That's ignored. The focus on "blacks" just ensures that it'll be business as usual.

Over policing poor communities is nothing more than a government scheme and has been as successful as the war on drugs. Both give cops a license to harass and abuse the poor in the name of "cleaning up the streets" so our affluent taxpayers feel "safe". It keeps these poor communities impoverished and incarcerated. That keeps the prison industry humming in the same way our military industry is. Neither budgets can ever be cut.

Despite hiring significantly more cops and advances in technology, over policing hasn't worked in the way it's sold to the public. Crime stats in these communities are still high. Drug sales and use is still high. Even with significantly fewer people living in these communities. Let's hire more cops and get "tough on crime" though because that will definitely solve the "problem" this time.

This should be the time that everyone takes a good look at the dollars we're spending on policing and defense. But it's damn near impossible when we're focusing on the balcks and every other manufactured boogeyman.
