True, but I'm working my way back into playing weight.

You better take me out now at fat and 54. Fit and 55 will be a different thing altogether.

You know, I think its a tad unprofessional for the police board president to be out here chanting "Fuck 12" and "Pigs must die!". Reckon that's not a majority opinion, though.

He was out there nicely asking the police to stop abusing their power and they responded by beating the shit out of him. Laziness, chaos, anger, and violence has been the LEO MO this week

If so, what a bunch of Dbags.

The city should demoted all of them to entry level rank and pay.

I was talking today with a relative today who is rather conservative, far more than I am. I said that it is imperative that white people across the political spectrum examine the structure of police departments and the deals which politicians have made to protect officers who are bullies, who are incompetent, and who are dangers to the public they swear to protect. He agreed with me, but didn't think that white liberals would touch a union.

Any rule that says these jamokes can resign from such a team and not from the force, that needs to be revisited immediately. Until then, bust them down to third shift foot patrol indefinately.

Again, if you dont want law enforcement there are case studies for that. What typically winds up happening is private armies staffed mainly by mercenaries guard the upper 15-20% of society with violence that will have you longing for your average neutered street cop. Everyone else essentially faces quasi-lawlessness.

I know it's impossible for Americans to think South Africa can possibly happen in the USA, but that's just because most Americans (even blacks) are racist enough to think they are better or somehow different than Africans.

So you support assinine union rules to protect police officers who are ineffective assholes and dangerous bullies? Awarded by mayors who want the endorsement in the next primary?

You're just going to replace it with new paramilitary shit. Except the new paramilitary shit wont have any responsibility to anyone who isn't a customer, which is really not going to wind up being a lot of fun.

You'll actually probably have many of the same cops that lose their jobs now working private security, driving around MRAPs and openly wielding AR's. And lest you think anyone is going to prevent this from happening, the people who contract these services out are going to be your politicians and upper-level business executives. They surely aren't going to sic the military on the private armies they hire.

A small ineffectual (probably unarmed) community police force will just hide in their stations all day.

No I think I'm coming around to the idea of private armies tbh. But I would be wary of letting your rage get the better of you, for most Americans its certainly better to try and work this system than replace it with what South Africa has.

You know, when I saw the Howard Hunter character on Hill Street Blues as a teenager, I thought it was just a humorous caricature. Boy, was I wrong.

Nope. You seemingly have no understanding of what is currently happening in the world. Which is obviously ironic.

What will the new police force look like once people get their wish to disband current police forces?

Even though unions routinely and nearly completely lean Democratic?

Yup. "Workers" parties always do that once they get a monopolistic power. Big fans of unions until then.
Look it up

They hurt an old guy but it seemed odd. They had their line advancing and he would not yield. In my training that person moves. No one gets through the line. Unfortunate.

Old white boomer who thought police were his personal army. Thing is, until about ten years ago, he was right!

Seriously if you have rudimentary training in MOUT or crowd/riot control that guy was not getting past that advancing line. I don’t care if it were Mother Teresa.

Police departments will be fine. No one is getting de-funded. Just talk to calm the masses.
