Just a reminder that police are scumbags

It's not a small minority of cops who are garbage human beings. It's perhaps a small minority who get caught being garbage human beings on camera. The rest of the cops cover it up and allow it to continue.

This is what I mean about the fraternity. Train them until the cows come home, they will always be overly protective of the fraternity.

How much of it is due to the union mentality? Can't get rid of bad teachers either. There's no incentive for the "good" members of a union to purge the "bad" members.

It's an institutional problem with no easy answers. Is there a tested alternative to a big city police force?

I've been on the record here as saying that all public sector unions need to be scrapped as they are at best giant patronage scams that fuck over tax payers.

Many want to make the fraternity bigger and stronger and provide more military equipment.

As a temporary measure right now, hell yes. We're looking at week 3 now. Falling to my knees in humiliation over my paleness doesn't seem to be working.

Cops and journalists (the discourse cops) will defend their respective in-groups to the death.

Being able to purge teachers is good in theory and bad in practice. Charters have said ability and it's been disastrous for them. They can't keep teachers and they can't find them either. No one wants to work there unless they have to. They get shitted on for less pay and no job protection. Principals make unfair demands because they know they can and most of their teachers leave on the first train smoking once they have the opportunity.

What's happened to you recently where you believed that you needed more police? How successful have more police been at reducing crime?

Jewel just gave a million dollars to Chicago's rebuilding looted small businesses and it's community. Also on their pinpads during your register transactions customers can choose to donate to it. I was just in one and it said something like "Feed the Hungry" . No mention to unknowing kind donators that money is going to riot and looting sympathizers in the ghetto.

I'm glad you decided not to donate.

Zero success. But first things first. Jibber jabbing and fake curfews doesn't mean shit to the Dollar Tree.

So please, stop sending #love. Stop sending positive vibes. Stop sending your thoughts. Here are three suggestions on more immediately impactful things to offer instead:

Money: To funds that pay legal fees for black people who are unjustly arrested, imprisoned or killed or to black politicians running for office.

Texts: To your relatives and loved ones telling them you will not be visiting them or answering phone calls until they take significant action in supporting black lives either through protest or financial contributions.

Protection: To fellow black protesters who are at greater risk of harm during demonstrations.

This is maybe going a little too far, eh?

You know what the epitome of these protests are to me? About an hour ago there was one single solitary white dude out there all by himself @ the fountain at Kedzie/Milwaukee holding up a sign saying "We Will Not Tolerate White Supremacy" --- I uhh... Well. Umm.... You go girl?

Helluva sermon from Reverend Stackhouse. Didn't expect to hear the Sklar brothers shout out in a southern preacher's eulogy. Good line about how there are more Americans who believe in sasquatch and the loch ness monster than acknowledge racial inequality exists.

That's kinda the point tbh. That's why there are no real demands.

How many years since slavery ended and before my entire life since MLK massacre. Guess what? No end. Born in 1950,1970, 1990, 2000 etc etc never ends.

Read an article today African people here don’t really like American blacks. Not sure if true but the idea has to entitlement.

They dont. A lot of it has to do with media impressions though, not any sort of entitlement. They think American blacks are like court jesters for the white masters, which obviously isn't true but there's not a lot of representation of the working black middle class in the media America exports to the world.
